Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Also Rudiger is at the same stage of his career as Boateng, when he made the switch to City. Bayern must be really excited to get him in 12 months.

Why we would'nt loan keane and sell him for 2 m, We are loosing 18 m on him two years later
1.Keane was on loan for quite few times. 2. We're a club run on manager oriented system. LVG happened to not see Keane in his plan, short term or long term. 3. Transfer market price spike. Unpredictable from 3 years ago. If we're to buy Bailly & Lindelof for their price these couple seasons just 3 years ago; we're considered overpaid. These past 2 years: we're getting the market price & potential bargain in long term due to John Stones' preference.

Another player we sold for peanuts.
Again without hindsight, nobody could see him becoming the players he is nowadays 3 years ago. Didn't really stand out during his loan or hat Blackburn (his permanent move). Beside this past season, I doubt anyone who look at him would say he's even better than Danny local lad Welbeck. Oh & without the experience he stacked up over the years, King wouldn't be the same player he is nowadays. The way he progressed with us.

Feck sake just tell em to do one, straight swap or were not interested, it's not like we're trying to buy Messi is it, surely there's other easier and probably better targets out there.

Mourinho doesn't seem interested, seems to be obsessed with this decent to good player. We need more he needs to wake up and realise that.

That's impossible transfer deals are notoriously complicated and take weeks to complete
Yeah. What about that transfer suggests their not? Lack of rumours does not mean they aren't complicated or take time.

It works when you have a long term stable manager who is actually a winner and knows the league well and also what he is doing. But the system have loop holes too which can really result in making wrong decisions and mistakes in the market and due to the inexpreince of moyes lvg and woodward we have made plenty of it, One of which was selling many of our academy and first team players which could have been kept and used.

But now since the new El tv deal has kicked on and inflation hit the market we have to rethink our transfer strategy and definately make some tweaks to better it to not loose the massive fee even smaller clubs could spend with their new buying power and also maintaining the status quo in the league with intelligent transfers which light slip through even with a manager oriented system.

Unbelievable that this is still dragging on, either pay up to get him or fecking move on already. This makes Woodward look bad more than paying a high fee, we just have to accept that we'll be overpaying for almost any player we go after.

Lol, Christ. Calm down. The only one looking bad here is you.

This is a terrible Summer window... how the fuk is Inter holding us up for ransom with Perisic? You got to feel the likes of Bayern would have had Perisic wrapped up already.

Only thing is they wouldn't be interested in him in the first place.

I don't disagree. I agree with most of what you said there. Just saying these types of problem can't be prevented since recruiting is difficult even for small business let alone one of the biggest job in the football world. You can't half ass not giving full control to manager in this system. The system is huge. You can't swing between different models for quick fix in the blink of the eye.

That came a bit out of nowhere. He's probably a bit better than Zouma but I wouldn't have thought he improves the first team a great deal.
Roma need to sell for FFP and Chelsea are notoriously good/quick negotiators. Took us weeks to get Salah over the line even with that catalyst. huge difference in competence between the clubs.

Chelsea are pretty efficient, they don't waste time. Unlike us they don't have long dragged out sagas, just look at how efficient they are at the Bakayoko deal.

Sky sources have told us Aston Villa are favourites to secure the signature of John Terry, despite interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

We understand a deal could be completed within the next week.

We've been told that Villa have made Terry a lucrative one-year contract offer, as have Midlands rivals Birmingham City, but the former England captain favours a move to Villa Park to work with Steve Bruce.

West Bromwich Albion, Swansea and Bournemouth were all interested in the 36-year old but Terry is reluctant to play against Chelsea, where he spent 2 decades as a player. His contract at Stamford Bridge expires in three days.

I know hes a c**t but i would love a terry figure at united. Someone who puts his body on the line etc. Bar bailly herrera and jones (when hes knackered) we lack it

If we're going this way why not sign Pepe then ? At least he can give one more year at top while Terry is finished.

I don't want both anyway.

Neither Tuanzebe or Williams are u18s and if you really think there's nothing special in the u18s then you haven't been paying attention. For a bit of context Willock is the same age group as Tuanzebe, Rashford and Fosu Mensah and wasn't even particularly impressive in the u23s league last season so to claim he'd walk in and instantly be the best u18/21 player is a strange statement to make
Meant u23's sorry, and Fosu Mensah and Rashford dont play in the u23's anymore as well.

Offering a low bid in hopes that the other club is desperate enough to sell but then they go around and raise money from elsewhere. Hanging your hat on their desperation and it backfiring kinda makes you look stupid any way you slice it.

Overall Ed is doing a good job but he picked the wrong window to start haggling.

You have no idea what's going on other than some tabloid speculation. My advice is to not believe everything you read. What we know is that we want him and he wants to play for us. A compromise will probably be reached. You have to think strategically. You can't just pay whatever teams ask for. It makes buying future players impossible.

Ed has closed some massive transfers. If Mourinho desperately wants him, we'll get him. Chill.

Good post.

Couldn't have worded it better. People seem to hold that Moyes window against Ed all the time forgetting what he's done when not saddled with easily the worst manager in our (al least recent) history.

Agree with the last part in particular and I think the deal hinges on how much Mourinho wants him and how much we will be made to pay for Morata. If we close the Morata deal then we will know where we stand budget wise and how we will apportion the cuts that need to be made after paying way beyond what we estimated he'd cost.

Buying Morata won't affect anything. We were going to spend more in Griezmann.

Not sure how to embed tweets on here but reports in Portugal reckon Ruben Neves is set for a £20m move to Wolves!

I'm not bothered by the player himself btw I have not seen him play nor does he seem like hes an exciting prospect. All am saying is if Mourinho really wants him then we simply have to pay up, Inter have all the leverage.

They are considerably younger than Willock is, so it's nothing weird. Gomes is 16 and the likes of Boonen, Chong, O Connor 17.
Erm they are in the u18s and Tuanzebe and Williams are in the u23s so its definately weird since he/she mentioned u18s

Hummels, Boateng and Martinez are relatively young for CBs and they bought Süle. Don't see the need for Rüdiger. Tah is the bigger talent IMHO.
Btw, I know you said it in jest. ;)
