Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Does feel kind of starnge that so few big transfer deals have happened yet at the big English clubs. I felt that United and Arsenal in particular would be very busy, very early.

And what's going on at Spurs? I haven't even seen them linked with anyone, nevermind sign anyone.

There's little to no basis for that statement at all.

Look at the purchase history of every manager the season before he got sacked.

If you can't recruit well you cannot make progress. If you cannot identify talent well you cannot recruit well. If you cannot identify talent you go back to the players who you are familiar with.

I don't deny that poor recruitment is a factor. Familiarity with signings isn't though, in my view.

#2 - Semedo
#7 - Dembele
#9 - Morata
#10 - Mata
#8 - Fabinho
#15 - Lindelof

Keep my muppet alive Woody!

Isn't Diego Costa interested in returning to Atletico? Conte sees him as surplus to requirements and no clubs seem that interested right now, so it leaves a pretty clear path for them to sign him. I remember there being issues about his affordability last time he was linked, so perhaps the sale of Griezmann could fund that. It's definitely a possibility, it just depends on Griezmann. He did say his reasoning for not leaving was because he'd leave Atletico in a bad predicament, but that wouldn't be the case if they sign Costa.
Griezmann wouldn't sacrifice playing in the final stages of the CL for atletico for moving half a year earlier to us.

On one hand you worry about why Bayern would sell him for that price. They generally sell well.

On the other hand, he has shown talent in his career, and 23m (pounds or euros) is a risk worth taking.

On the third hand it's bullshite anyway.

For £23m I would give Sanches a chance. If we added him and Fabinho, then our midfield depth looks great.

........Fabinho
Herrera ... Pogba

........Carrick
Sanches ... Pereira

There's a reason they 'only' want £23m: he's not very good. I'd honestly much rather see any of those minutes go to Andreas Pereira who looks just as much of a prospect.

There is a reason why they might be willing to let him go for a price that we won't even sell Fellaini for. In a market where Mbappe will command £100m, the signs are there.

Sanches is 2 years younger, which is still probably splitting hairs given both are kids. I don't think we can rule sanches off from one bad season at Bayern though. Especially if he's available for 23m.

In this market if you can get Sanches for £23 million, its well worth the risk.

Mourinho could try and develop him like he did with Fabinho. He clearly got bigger chances with Mou in United than in Bayern. 23m is hardly a risk and would mean another example of reasonable spending in this window... and by the way, who said Jose cannot sign youngsters ?

Fully fit Sanches is one of the most energetic midfielders around. He had wonderful time in Benfica and he killed it in Euros. That performance against Poland was just deadly.

Do you think signing Sandro and Bonucci is not good recruitment? Do you not think they have talent?

Agree. Should be careful with that one.

Yeah well, what if Atlético go out in the group stages? As @SS said, there's Diego Costa possibly lined up as a replacement.

Of course it's a long shot and we shouldn't bank on it, but it's possible in the right circumstances. Which is why I think José wouldn't buy a number 10 for now.

I might be wrong on this, but wouldn't Bonucci be the first player Conte works with again? Managed Italy when Sandro went to Juve, and I don't think he has worked with any of the current Chelsea players before.

Mata?

Apart from Dembele id say all realistic. Still think we will sign another attacker
I wouldn't say it's unrealistic assuming we are interested in him. We have a good relationship with BVB, and I don't they'd turn us down if we put say €90m, considering his agent is Raiola who is still in bed with us. Add the lure of the #7 shirt. There is a chance if we test the waters.

Sure but sooner than later you'll run out of former.olayers to buy and teams.csn hold out for a ransom like juventus will and Everton did with Moyes.

No he's not.
