Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

They've already completed deals for some of the most promising footballers in positions where they are likely to lose players. No one expected them to win the league at the start of last season, so one season off won't hurt them. Quote me on this, they will sell players for massive money again next window after this. What we need to do is hire the wizard behind their dealings.
likes of tielemans aren't exactly unknown. it's just PL clubs would rather other clubs develop them and then pay 3x the amount in a few years then take them on initially. Even clubs like us (Liverpool) don't snap them up before they become stars when that's really what we should be doing

Click bait.

Yeah I don't really believe it, but was posting as OohAhhMartial said he couldn't do it.

Fwiw on looking for the tweet I saw that he has been liking tweets about Lindelof joining us. Obviously stuff like this happens every season, but I don't see any link between the two of them.

Fabinho, Morata and Dembele would turn this into a phenomenal window. Shipping Rooney out would complete it.

I've been hoping every day based on absolutely nothing that something comes of Dembele to us. In this arms race, options are running out for game changers. It has been well documented that our PL rivals all have at least one, while our continental rivals have at least two. I see Dembele as one of the last options at a selling club right now, and we have to be in for him if he's on the move. Hopefully Barcelona get Verratti too, which would likely put them firmly out of any race for him.

If we sign lindeof, fabinho, winger and striker - possibly the best window for a long while!

Maybe, but we have always been mentioned as having an interest in him. As soon as it's reported that he's agreed to go Chelsea we have now apparently made a bid for Fabinho. Could be a coincidence but maybe not.

I'm only interpreting the reports coming from France but Chelsea have been worried about United initial interest, so they decided to go after him in December. Bakayoko gave them his word but wasn't really interested in a January move, then Chelsea faced problems with Bakayoko's agents who is apparently represented by two sets of unrelated people which is why they haven't signed him yet. I don't think United and other clubs showed anything more than curiosity.

I think it's possible we get him in January. Not ideal but manageable. He'll be cup-tied so wouldn't be able to play in the CL though.
No chance. The reason we won't buy him this summer is because he doesn't want to screw over Atletico since they can't replace him. He'll stay there for at least another year

They can replace him in January. They're only banned from registering players for this Summer window.

Do you honestly see that happening? Atletico replacing him in january? No way, those kinds of signings never happen in january. I also think Griezmann wants to finish the season in Atletico

Well quite a few top clubs were willing to spend big on Renato Sanches. That doesn't prove anything.
We and PSG spent big on Di Maria too.
Like I said, let him make the move to any big club and people will see he's no more than a good striker. Definitely not the next superstar or the next Brazilian Ronaldo/Thierry Henry.
And not worth 70m€ let alone 135m.

I'd be interested to see who City lined up to replace Aguero if we wanted to sell him. Would probably be significant.
Alexis? Unless they're after him anyways, regardless of Aguero. Just what they need, right? Another attacking player.

Isn't Diego Costa interested in returning to Atletico? Conte sees him as surplus to requirements and no clubs seem that interested right now, so it leaves a pretty clear path for them to sign him. I remember there being issues about his affordability last time he was linked, so perhaps the sale of Griezmann could fund that. It's definitely a possibility, it just depends on Griezmann. He did say his reasoning for not leaving was because he'd leave Atletico in a bad predicament, but that wouldn't be the case if they sign Costa.

Jesus, Sanches, Aubeyang.....arent they already seemingly being rumoured to be trying to replace him anyway? Guardiola seems to want a certain type of player and has no fear replacing ones who dont fit his ideas....Ronaldhino, Deco, Eto...then Ibrahimovic, Hart
