Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

€40m + Giroud would be a decent deal for them. They could struggle to find a proper replacement for Lacazette.

Very true. It would have to be swap + money for it to make any sense. There's also a question of what Giroud's wage demands would be like, etc. I'd hate to see Laca go to Arsenal, though. He's a good player and I enjoy watching him play, but it would be harder to enjoy if he were banging in goals at the Emirates.

.....Maybe

Basically the way the rumors have gone this summer, I would not put much stock in any of them surrounding Fabinho. Not that we can rule out that United are interested but the rumors are just all over the place and flip-flop around every other day it seems. Too many questionable sources also.

One can dream, if we're really not in for Fabinho, but this makes the least amount of sense in terms of the player & selling club. Doubt he's looking to move on, unless he's going for a Big League CL Trifecta, plus doesn't seem RM is looking to upgrade it's Galactico in that position and they already don't want to deal with us due to DDG & Morata.

For me, all eggs for a Carrick/DM replacement is currently on Fabinho. One thing to get an athletic CB to fit, but another to shoehorn a young, relatively unknown DM into our current set-up. Beside Naingollan (not happening) or N'zonzi, the only other scenario I see would be to rely on Herrera as a DM, while rotating Perreira/Mata/Mhki/new transfer at the AM.

Dont think I'd have a meltdown but i wouldn't be very happy Fabinho is the best DM available in this market Mourinho would be crazy not to go for him.
You can't just make unsubstantiated claims like that. We won't know who the best DM in the market is until Mourinho signs a DM.

Don't post stupid tweets please.

Yeah, this window a lot of Seria A players will move from decent and good clubs to the better ones. Sad

I sense sarcasm, but it's hard to build a competitive league when one team plucks the best players out of the other teams, Bayern do the same in the Bundesliga, it's why both leagues are one horse races.

Nurse is just being honest. "Nothing firm" because he has no sources whatsoever but know's "United are interested" because it's been all over the media for days.

So he's being paid to do something any of us could?

We must have someone better lined up then if that's the case

Personally speaking there is a bit of Viera about Fabinho...BUT I think he is a better right back than cm . I think Fabinho, Mendy and Bakayako are all good players and all getting over rated as well. I also think Renato Sanches is being under rated after a poor season, where he barely got a sniff anyway and possibly problems settling in Germany?

After what Mourinho said about Sanches and his apparent availability (especially as Bayern seem to b egetting linked with so many cm at the moment), I have a strong sense he will be our midfield signing and I would be very happy with that if the case.

Howard Nurse: Manchester United have signed Alan Smith from Leeds.

Has been the case, but dont forget the money Milan have. I have a sense Serie A is going to grow again over the next couple of years.

Poor Milan. They'll lose their best 'keeper for nothing, and we'll keep our 'keeper forever.

That's mad. Say it can get confusing.
I still dont understand why some names have different pronunciation in some languages.. I think the best way is to call the name as it is .. Bayern Munchen then

Madrid are wretched cnuts, they gonna do their best to bleed us dry for Morata, because they know they don't need to sell but we must buy a striker.

As opposed to them being more sympathetic to our need for a centre forward?

What's your point here?

You seem to have forgotten (or maybe you are not old enough to remember) that we sold them Ronaldo for 80 million pounds at a time when world class players were going for around 35 million. They paid it, because they needed the player. Neither we nor Madrid are charitable organizations, and they are under no obligation to give us their players at bargain prices. If we don't like the prize they are quoting for their player, we can always refuse to pay it and look elsewhere. No need to call them names.
