Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

This whole post is a mess. Sort yourself out.

We're a few players short of a strong team and I'll trust Mourinho to identify those players and bring them in. Some things will be out of his control (Griezmann) but if he picks Matic (a player he has worked with and has won premierships) over Fabinho (huge talent but unproven in England) then so be it.

Yes we are a few players short but not just any players, we are a few top players short of challenging.

Just because Mou brings in some players doesn't mean those are the ones who are going to bring us back to challenging. We obviously wanted Griezmann and we won't get him, that means we've missed out on one of the guys who was meant to be one of those few top signings. We can't just expect Mou to pull out guys like Griezmann from nowhere and if he doesn't get one he'll just find another of equal quality

The truth is there's no guarantee the exact players we need and the players of the right quality are available this summer. We might sign 4/5 guys but were they all first choice? If in theory we could sign anybody would we have got those guys? Mou may sign the best players he can get but that doesn't mean they're good enough and people have the right to question these choices and complain if they believe they aren't good enough.

Christ it's slow since the Lindelof and Morata excitement isn't it?

Boring internationals getting in the way might be the reason.

Assuming Morata is close to completion, we have more than three weeks to sign the remaining two players before we head out on preseason tour. There probably won't be any muppet megathread to camp in this summer.

Yes it looks that way. We may even get all of our business done this month, which would be excellent.

Calm down guys, it's been widely reported that Fabinho is on holiday for 2 weeks. I expect the deal is already done and just needs his contract signing when he's back. So no news is probably good news - the journos know FA as nothing has changed.

Deal might be done with who? Him? Monaco?

It obviously isn't done, because we haven't announced an agreement has been reached.

Once the entire football course is over, the time for the transfers is over. One of the names of this summer market is that of Alvaro Morata, who will return to leave Real Madrid. On the canterano and his transfer talks this Tuesday Man Utd Carreño (Who initially broke the Morata to United story) in his commentary in 'Hoy por Hoy'.

"We are about to beat the money record of a transfer of a Spanish footballer Fernando Torres had 58 million euros when he left Liverpool for Chelsea 48 Lazio went to Valencia for Mendieta and 44, United to Chelsea by Juan Mata.

The record is going to beat Álvaro Morata. In the coming hours, surely between today and tomorrow, close the agreement between United and Real Madrid in a transfer that will be around 75 or 80 million euros.

Spanish football continues to export players, although it is a shame that Alvaro Morata did not win at Real Madrid. For the second time he's going out the back door. They convinced him when he went to Juventus to return and be important, but he goes away again because he knows that with Zidane he does not have minutes.

So Álvaro Morata, who is no longer important in the national team because he does not play for Real Madrid, needs to feel important in a great club to return to being important in the Spanish team where he has won the match Diego Costa."

Did he criticise any of them though?

Maybe not directly but his bitter spats with the entire Barcelona team could very much be described as criticisms. Fabregas once asked him to shut up after Mourinho described that particular Barcelona squad as 'the worst Barcelona side in many, many years'. The spats they had are almost countless. The Barcelona boys called him 'The Translator' to mock him and indirectly say he was not worthy of being called a manager. Fabregas and Pedro had to explain, many times, why they decided to play for Jose at Chelsea.
