Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Diario madridista is the sport part of Okdiario, directed by Inda and financed by Madrid.Great to find out all the ugly stuff of Barsa but very biased with Madrid.
In my opinion there are not serious offers for James and they are just trying to move his name through the press
There haven't been many links have there. It seems more that he wants to come to us, rather than we want him. PSG are one of the few teams linked. That might be a show for the fans. Doubt their fans will be happy if Veratti goes.

I disagree with this. Perisic makes sense to me over alternatives in his position because he has specific qualities that would compensate for other parts of our team, and that alternatives wouldn't necessarily. Matic is a totally different case for me; everything he can do, Fabinho can do better. Not to say Matic isn't a good player, but it doesn't make sense to me to go with the latter when the former is available. Only reason I can think that Mourinho would go for Matic is because he's worked with him before.

He's worked with Fabinho before too.

Not a tweet, but a weird one.

Rodriguez move to be scuppered by Rooney?
Diario Madrista are reporting that the proposed deal for Rodriguez may not happen because of his need to wear the number 10 shirt.

Adidas are said to be demanding that he has to wear 10 - already occupied by Wayne Rooney.

Rumours have linked Rooney with China or a move back to Everton, but he could choose to run down his contract which expires in 2019.

That's nonsense it'd be way too big for him anyway :wenger:

Oh would you look at that? 3 french players who play in France. Not difficult making this shit up, is it?

Them being linked to Mbappe is even a joke itself imo. They'll never pay his full ridiculous price but journalists keep linking him them. If Wenger is really thinking for him, then he's preparing his excuse for next season : " We tried to sign world class players but it failed so accept mediocrity.

Off the top of my head. Some will leave and so some youngsters will get named in the 25.

We would have already sold him if he wasn't part of the plan

He is part of the plan but he shouldn't be starting games for us. I will be so pissed off we use hoof the ball tactics when we can't break down defences.

True, I'd forgotten. Although he probably had longer to build a relationship with Matic.
Matic also threw him under the bus in his last season, so i'm not sure he will be welcoming him back with open arms.

We only use that towards the end and even pep klopp and all use it.

I see what your saying and its a fair point.

Didn't Matic down tools the year Mourinho got sacked at Chelsea? Think only Willian worked his socks off regardless that year which is why i was suprised to see Matic linked with us.
Yeah, figure only Willian is the only player from that team Jose would want. Matic played a bit better last year, but he also had Kante as his partner.

I think this could be a negotiation ploy to bring down the selling price or even the salary demands. RM already has over the barrel with Morata,. No need to let Monaco dictate terms, although they seem to be the most obliging of selling clubs. Setting almost bargain prices in comparison to other clubs.

In another vein, I just can't see us help finance a rival's attempt to improve, as buying Matic probably means Chelsea is getting Bakayoko. TBH, I'm surprised they haven't been mentioned for Fabinho, but maybe he's more like Kante than Matic?

Dier isn't homegrown and we're still massively stacked anyways.

Tuanzabe, TFM, Pogba, Rashford, Pereira, Lingard. And that's just off the top of my head, I'm probably missing some.
Yeah sorry of course he isn't but when you look at who is/could be leaving we still might need to up our numbers.

I predict they will get none of those three targets.
I have a weird feeling that we could see something different from Arsenal this season. (ofcourse they will be playing EL rather than CL but performance wise too - both on pitch and in transfer market)

They'll be different. They'll be much worse.

Surely we can just run down his number to 0 and give James the 10 shirt?

Will be one of those players where we'll look back and wonder why the hell we never made a bid.
Of course, but you see its about requirements, he isn't a pure holding midfielder, which we need and also we have Pereira coming back.
Also, signs of Sanches leaving? We could do a Juve like deal of 2 yr loan or something like that.

Yeah we've definitely got plenty at present but you could conceivably take 6 off that list pretty quickly. Just wouldn't want us to get to the stage where we have to start signing the Delphs of this world just to meet the quota.

Also, I'm not one for only wanting home nations players in the team but someone posted a line-up in here that didn't have a single one in it. That would be a concern for me.

Matic was outstanding the season before last to be fair. He's 28, not 38, and has a lot left to give.
Three seasons ago is a long time in football. With the prices in English football, Matic would likely cost more to sign than Fabinho, and Matic is more comfortable as an LCM - like Pogba is. I'd just see it as weird after Mourinho's criticism of him before he was sacked.

Agreed. Don't believe 40m eu but players like him, Lacazatte, Lemar and Fabinho are world class. We need to be in the market for these guys.
