Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Quick get the "I lost a CL" medals out said no one, ever.

He won a league title 3 seasons ago in the 2013/14 seaaon almst as long ago as we did.

You seem to be emotionally invested on that one.

The fact is that Atletico have a good team, they are competitive and they can win, it's that simple.

What's a LFC-Barca Suarez style deal ?
Renew contract but agree that he's able to leave for said team when they come knocking again next summer, probably for an improved fee because he just signed a new, long-term contract.

Basically a gentlemen's agreement which says "I'll stay for one more year".

I assume "give us another year and you can leave with our blessing", similar to Ronaldo in 08.

I'm or convinced we should give him any assurances we will sign him in another year. Football moves quickly. If say, Dembele, at 21 with even more experience is an option next year, or even Mbappé (who knows), Antoine may be less attractive. Neymar may be finally ready to move on. Personally, I'm not convinced he's THAT special a player that we have to commit too this far ahead.

Every year we have this point raised and every year it's wrong.

The window opens the second the whistle is blown at the last competitive game of the season.

You cannot however register that player to play for you, until the registration window opens.

City have done their business early and bought all these players!

But the transfer window hasn t opened yet!

Crazy how other teams are buying these players despite the window not being open!

The thing is it really makes no difference if you announce a signing on May 31st or June 12th does it? There is no trophy for being early. Now if you start talking about signing players after you have started training or the season has started, okay you can have some complaint.

This really happens every year. A few players get signed before we sign one and people freak out. For the most part we get our business down in a timely fashion, but sometimes some transfers take longer. It is the odd summer when all our business is done late. Historically we have signed players early, in the middle of the window and late in the window, heck even a few times we signed players in January more for with the following season in mind. Pretty much the same as every other club in the world if you look over their history.

At this point there is no reason to get over worried about what business is done or still needs to be done. Give it some time and see what happens.

Oh and City have signed 2 players, "bought all these players" might be an over reaction. We will have at least one signing this week, possibly 3 in total by the end of the week.

I'm not interested in Griezmann for a higher fee. He's missed his chance to move imo. His numbers this season weren't even that great tbh. I still wanted us to sign him but would be happy enough to move on to other targets now frankly.

It won't be an assurance. It'll be an option or agreement.

What if he doesn't perform to the same level?

What if someone steps up in our squad? Or a different target that could suit us better is up for grabs?

I'm not convinced about going in for him after a year.

We should re-evaluate our needs in the next Summer.

If things change, we can have a change of heart, just like Griezmann did. We aren't exactly committed to buying him and I'm sure we will have all options open. Personally, I'd love him at the club but now he's not coming I reckon we should and would build the team without him in mind.

Me too.

Wouldn't be exactly heart broken if we didn't sign him.

We'll still need him.

The plan: Griezmann for one more year on increased salary, release clause stays the same, and he'll leave next year

Joe Hart. Oh dear. Both FKs go in in middle of the goal. This could be the end of him with England.

I'm not sure you can trust someone who genuinely believes those shots were middle of the goal fare!
