Are we really complaining about Rooney ? The club offered him a contract, he agreed and is now honoring it. Not his fault that the club offered him ridiculous wages and now can't get rid of him because of their own mistake.

Then honoring it in reserve if he want to go AND want the club to pay the rest of contract too.

No, Rooney wants to leave to keep playing every week AND get his contract paid up! That's why people are moaning, the guy is a grade a cnut, everyone knows it, sooner he fecks off out of this club the better.

To be fair Keegan was the first British journo to report agreement/bid/talks with Lindeloef hours before we announced it.

Donnarumma would be mental to leave Milan right now. I know they're not perennial winners anymore but he's got a chance to be loved to bits by the fans even if he stays just a few more years. He's obviously an amazing prospect but because of that he's got time on his side. Even if he didn't move until he was 24 or something, he'd still have the chance to win a bucket load of titles. If he moved now, it's highly possible his development would stall.

He occasionally has some interesting info. That said, most of these people are journos so anything they offer up isn't necessarily true. Its just hearsay and speculation based on their own sources. Believe what they say at your own peril.
aye, a bit controversial tho from memories last year round.

Wouldn't be surprised at the Rooney bit tho.

We as supporters need to accept that it's the clubs mistake that we are in this messy situation. The talk of boing etc will only hurt our club and morale in the squad.

The best scenario if the club really want to get rid and have no offers is to buy him out of his contract. Regardless of what you guys think of Rooney he is a club legend. And it will not reflect good on the club if we don't handle this situation well.

yeah, but i didnt include him in the normal journalist category, since he is so close to Jose

But then how can you be so sure Keegan wasn't just lifting what Castles reported? Not like it would be the first time a journo lifted something from another journo trying to pass it off like it was his own report.

No Fabinho makes sense if we are playing 3 at the back, it allows Herrera and Pogba to still play behind a front 3.
3 at the back with a midfield 3 would be overkill.

The others could have done the same. Give the guy some credit

I don't see it as that big a problem. Let him stay and play occasionally. Last year we had Rooney, Schweinsteiger, and Zlatan - each getting paid above 200k/week and we are removing two of them and may yet work something out for Wayne.

  • I know it's Pilip, may not be trustworthy, but that Rooney bit if true really stinks up his legacy with us. Wonder who are the 6 players who can leave: Rooney, Januzaj, Young, Smalling/Jones?

Rooney wants his contract paid up? Should just leave him in the reserves for a year. He's no interest in being a footballer anymore.

Rooney
Smalling or Jones
Januzaj
Borthwick-Jackson
Ashley Young
Juan Mata

Is my guess.

Yeah, I could see that, although Mata would hurt. He's too good to just let go for peanuts, which we're known for doing.

I'd probably put Darmian out there over Young or Mata, though. The valuation for him has already been mooted.

My list:

Jones (figure Smalling edges him based on EL Final start)
Darmian
Young
Januzaj
2 young reserves (probably CBJ & Varela)

LOL at all the people who think Rooney should just walk away from his contract. If you're being honest, not one of you would do that if you were in his shoes. The cub offered him the contract, why should he leave money on the table? Hell, one could probably argue he was vastly underpaid for the first few years as a United player so he is just making up for that in a way. So, while he can't provide the quality he once did, the guy is a fecking legend for the club and I hope he gets every penny he can.

No one "expects" him to walk away from money, people expect him to be willing to leave the club after they subsidize his move to a place where he can actually play. Not to mention there's places he can move for similar money. Guy is a legend stats wise, but he has never and will never be one of the most beloved players at the club. He's done too much to damage that for some people

I don't think it's good for the club if he stays under the current circumstances. The club should try and find solution that is acceptable for both parties so he can move on.

AS Roma offered arounf €25 Mfor Seri but offer got refused by OGC Nice. Seems he has an offer from China.

Daily Mail are contradicting each other!

United remain in discussions with Real Madrid over Alvaro Morata and have held further talks over Monaco's Fabinho and Ivan Perisic at Inter Milan though they are wary of Paris St Germain's rival interest hiking up the asking price for the 28-year-old./QUOTE]

Jesus Christ

Hello Wayne. Nice to know you read these forums. Now feck off you leech.

Life doesn't work that way when you're rich and high profile. Once you sign a deal no matter how bad a job you do you'll get paid a fair amount of any contract. Unless employer can prove gross misconduct, so they can sack you, but even then it's not so clear cut.

To add to the Rooney bit: he was promised a ambassadorial gig with us after his retirement when he signed his contract right? If he is going to "cash in" on his contract in order to leave us, even though we have paid him MILLIONS over his years with us, letting him stay on to be top-scorer and all, then I don't think that ambassador role is going to happen.

I dont for a second believe we will offload 6 first-team players....esp with both Rojo and Zlatan leaving

As I recall we had 27-28 players when the season ended (not counting youngsters who played like 1 game)

Zlatan, Rojo out - Wilson will go, Johnstone will go - if we let 6 other players leave - we will be down to 17-18 players - before we start adding players. Don't believe it.

And it's plain stupid to let Smalling leave with Rojo still injured and Jones a question mark.

Rooney, Januzaj, Wilson, Young and Johnstone - I would actually keep the others myself.

That's about the 157th itk that I've seen credited with breaking the Silva to City stoey

Why are you saying Rojo is leaving ?

Januzaj
Johnstone
one of Smalling/Jones
Rooney
Varela
Wilson (though ACL will make it tough to sell him)

I'd agree with this. A few had Fellaini on there own lists, think that is more hope for those posters then what will end up happening. Jose clearly like him and has a use for him.
