Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

I think Woody is waiting for the right time to finally push the Buy button, contemplating how long or far can Inter resist considering they are behind to comply to FFP (still exist?) and Inter themselves need funds to buy players as rumoured such as Hamez.

Anyone any clue what shape we would take if we signed belotti morata perisic and fabinho haha?

Is there a way to accomodate two strikers, a left winger and 3 cms ?

Seem quite square peggish, especially when Rashford can understudy for the main striker.

Both Morata and Bellotti, even though they are primarily center forwards, can play anywhere across the forward lines. Morata is more in the Karim Benzema mould. He can comfortably float from wide. But it all depends on the formation per match.

The worry is Rashford and Martial. They won't get so much game time unless, they suddenly up their games incredibly.

If Jose also buys Perisic, then we will really have some serious fire power. He can rotate Morata, Belotti, Perisic, Rashford and Martial out wide and in the center forward positions.

You are telling me we couldn't get a better player than Perisic for that price.
Alright then who else? Costa? Didn't play better than Perisic last year. Other than that most would be asking for even more.

Quite right. We can afford to flush millions down the drain each year. Video games don't reflect the reality of how rich we are. Too many posters assume that the constraints on our budget are the same as they are in Football Manager.

Is there anything in my post that remotely suggests 'flushing millions down the drain'?

Long before this announcement it was said Zlatan didn't want to pick up wages whilst injured so i doubt his release is actually a release, he'll be back for our post-January push.

After which he'll then win the Champions League and ride into the retirement sunset. :D

Get James and spend less on a different winger. There's plenty of decent wingers around, may not offer exactly what Perisic does but no way is Perisic worth it at that price

Is there any indication José actually wants James? Would he fit into the team José wants to build?

Perisic thrives on attacking in transition and counter attack. Our problem last season was that we failed to score against packed defenses all season. Singing Perisic doesnt really address our problem. We need creative goalscorers.

I'm glad both Milan clubs are throwing their money around. Juve have had it their own way for far too long.
To be fair, Inter has spent roughly 300mln in the last two summer sessions, and AC Milan 110 in 2015/2016.
The thing is they just don't know how to spend.

But AC Milan's new board seems to have a good project, I'll give them that.

Anyway, if there's a team I really believe it can win the Scudetto is Napoli

Morata?

I dunno but the question posed was who else we could get for the money we are offering for Perisic, it was a hypothetical question I'm not suggesting this will actually happen. The point is that there are other options out there, i'd rather spend 55m on a world class player in another position and spend less on a winger if Perisic is going for that price

There are other options, but Jose wants Perisic. Why would you want us to sign a player that Jose doesn't want?

It does address the problem against epl defenses when he provides the width and results in direct counter attacking stuff. But i also agree we also need creative goal scorers / wide men

In an ideal world, yes. Then sign Griezmann to partner Morata long term next summer.

We ain't signing James for 55m euro That's for sure.

Sorry I meant spend that 55m towards James. I doubt James would cost much more than 60/70m so it's not that much more than Perisic would cost, yet the gulf in class between the two is huge

What about him? I have reservations about Morata being our main striker and essentially replacing Ibra (who wouldnt, hes still unproven as a leading striker for any team). But he has the tools to become a world class player and can thrive in both counter attacking and possession based systems. As long as we bring in another goalscorer to share the burden we should be alright. On the other hand I dont believe that Perisic is good enough to be a starter for a top european club nor does he suit the possession based system Jose has been playing unless Jose plans to play differently in Europe and requires hard working tactically smart counter attacking players for CL.

There are other options, but Jose wants Perisic. Why would you want us to sign a player that Jose doesn't want?

We have no idea who Jose does and does not want, all we go off is newspaper rumours. I'm not trying to read Jose's mind and come up with the perfect target list, all I'm saying is there's better value in the market than 55m for Perisic. I'm sure Jose likes him but he won't spend an unlimited amount of money on him.

Jose wanted Griezmann but he didn't get him, then he moved onto other targets and now we're getting Morata. Just because you don't get a player you like doesn't mean you end all options there, if we don't get Perisic i'm sure Jose will sign someone else. Who that player will be is anyone's guess, I'm just giving potential options to show that there are some

I think We'll play a mix of that. And Posession based style would require another creative wide player something n the mould of mahrez or silva which we missed.

I don't think Perisic would cost us €50m. They might be asking for so much, but we will not pay. That's why we're sorting out the #9 position first. Someone mentioned our strategy is to delay as much as we can that deal. I am not sure anyone would try to hijack that deal. We may not get him for exactly the €30m, but I don't think we'll spend more than €40m.
Watch us have another bid €42 and then €45 a week before 30th of June, both the bids will get rejected and then a cheeky €30 + €5 a day or two before the deadline.
Sounds legit. :D

Surely there will be an awkward silence when Real asks us to fax the offer - would love to be a fly on the wall. :D

I suppose I meant more on a status level. AC Milan are one of footballs great team, they should not be where they have for the past few seasons.
