Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Really can't see us getting Morata AND Belotti. Just doesn't make sense tactically, nor financially. One has to play second fiddle, and neither of them will cost less than €60m.

Indeed. It's likely nonsense. The club will surely be pursuing 1st, 2nd and probably 3rd choice options in a number of positions and will then pull the trigger on the ones they think they can get done. It'll be Morata OR Belotti.

Thinking about it, I'm not 100% sure we will go into next season with only 2 strikers Rashford + Morata/Belotti guess it really depends how Jose sees Martial

What type of formation do these guys think we're going to play next season, by targeting 2 £60-70m strikers?

I don't know what formation Jose will favour, but we have to replace Rooney and Zlatan, so we do require 2 strikers. All top clubs need 4 strikers, it was never an issue for us in the past.

3-5-2 would be the only way I could see it working, with Rashford and Martial as their back-ups and Mkhitaryan/Mata competing for the role in behind them.
Which I can't see Mourinho going for long term. And if he was, surely we'd need a left wing back which we haven't been strongly linked to. That article doesn't even allude to a fullback and they claim to have our full list.

The issue here is both strikers need to play all the games if they're costing £60m+. Rooney didn't start a lot of games last year. So yes, replace Rooney. I agree.

But with a £70m striker? I'm not sure. I'd still rather wait for Griezmann next year and have Martial, Rashford and Morata next year. Or even til January and try for Griezmann then.

That would make no sense whatsoever.

Agreed. United already have two strikers in Martial and Rashford, and only ever play one down the middle, the other begrudgingly shoved out wide. Morata and Dybala would make sense as United desperately need a left footed wide player to add balance and pace, as well as providing that galactico stature all the other linked players don't provide.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Jose wanted Morata and Belotti. He knows how shit our attack is and he knows he won't win titles unless its significantly strengthened.

Didnt everyone at the start of the window say "Jose wants 2 strikers"? Certainly remember that being the idea. Wouldnt stun me if he signed both Morata and Belotti. Especially after last year. We need fire power desperately. And we've really only got Rashford. Rooney and Zlatan are pretty much gone, and he doesnt fancy Martial up top.

I think Perisic would simply play as the LWB in a 3-5-2, this means we could play 2 strikers and an AM in behind them and wouldn't need to rely on Perisic for a big goal output, he could just concentrate on holding the width. I admit it doesn't seem that likely but it's the only way I could see fitting Morata and Belotti in together, my guess though is that there's nothing in the Belotti rumours.

Morata + Rashford is pretty light in terms of numbers. One injury and we've depending on one striker. (Not counting Rooney & Zlatan, Martial imo is not good enough leading the line, at least not yet). So having 3 strikers makes perfect sense.

Me too. Money is not a concern for a United right now. No amount of spending will surprise me (or the bitching about it).

My thoughts too.

Anyone any clue what shape we would take if we signed belotti morata perisic and fabinho haha?

Is there a way to accomodate two strikers, a left winger and 3 cms ?

Seem quite square peggish, especially when Rashford can understudy for the main striker.

PSG annoy me to no end, they've got no business signing the class of players they do.

Antalyaspor: "Welcome Jeremy Menez, the French footballer, coming from Bordeaux, will be tied to our colors for the next three years."

would dybala not cost large sums of money, as well as there being no guarantee he would leave the champions league runners up?

Says Lindelof is going to join United for 35m + 5m bonus according to "Record" Portuguese journalists. Inter was keen on him but has to give up.

He would. But United can afford it, and they badly need some 'magic' to go with all the more pragmatic signings, especially since it looks like Mbappe will have another year at Monaco. He'd take convincing, of course, but Juve look like they may have peaked, and might like the money to rebuild as the Milan clubs splash the cash this summer.

Makes no sense. They already got Kessie and are close to Biglia, 2 defensive minded midfielders. Are they going to buy 10 players this summer?
Kessie is going to Milan, not Inter, isn't he? Krychowiak is going to Inter according to that tweet. Still, Milan are just throwing money at anybody right now

Yeah, i read Milan in both tweets, but it is Inter. They are still going strong this summer, buying half their league from the lower to mid clubs

I'm glad both Milan clubs are throwing their money around. Juve have had it their own way for far too long.

If Rooney was to leave aswell as Ibra going. Along with the sales... we would have a tonne to spend especially with the wages saved. Lindelof, Fabinho, Morata and Belotti would be a pretty good summer. Along with maybe one more. All depends on our shape next season. Then Griezmann next year

Agree. However, Napoli are the closest for me. Roma aqcuiring Monchi is huge as well. Serie A is on the up, up and awaaay.
