Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

An interesting move. Think he'll be fired before February.

He is very good at doing many things with very limited possibilities. Funny that they decided to greet him by his first name, I guess they tried to avoid Slut-sky jokes

Bild saying PSG new sporting director Henrique not the biggest fan of Aubameyang. Might kill the transfer.

Anyone any clue what shape we would take if we signed belotti morata perisic and fabinho haha?

Is there a way to accomodate two strikers, a left winger and 3 cms ?

Seem quite square peggish, especially when Rashford can understudy for the main striker.
2 striker one most likely. I did analysis of this in one of the thread created by me. We don't have wingers and Jose has used 2 strikers before when wing quality is not up-to the mark.

- @FulhamFC and @htafcdotcom inquired about the central defender of @StadeDeReims Julian Jeanvier!

I'm not saying he's average, I'm just stating the current state of the transfer market.

I know mate. Just saying that based on current rates, the price tag on Perisic is not scandalous. People are only criticizing the price because they think he is too average or old, or one dimensional etc.

But we'll see.

Surprised about Willock getting an extension as I can't possibly see how he has any chance of playing for the first team. Would be a strange philosophy to offer him a contract only for reserve team football.

Why would that be strange ? We need a reserve team. If we were to release every player not good enough to be a United-player we would have to release almost every player, every year

Everyone seems to become an expert accountant on Utd finances this time of year.

Let the club spend I say - we make enough money.

Or be like Liverpool/Everton and look for deals yet never achieve feck all.

I agree. We are the richest club in the world for goodness sake.

If we spend, they'll mock us. If we don't spend, they'll do the same so what the heck? Let's get the best players available out there and go toe to toe with the best of Europe next season. This is the time to make the United brand stronger and more attractive with silverware. Madrid spends the cash and gets the titles. We may not need to be as crazy as they are but no need to be silly saving money we can use to get the best players around.

Quite right. We can afford to flush millions down the drain each year. Video games don't reflect the reality of how rich we are. Too many posters assume that the constraints on our budget are the same as they are in Football Manager.

Morata, Belloti and Perisic means one thing: Jose is done with trusting and relying on Rashford, Martial and Lingard. They will have to fight for their very careers when those new boys come in.

Lingard got a new contract at the tail end of last season. He'll be fine.

Martial is the one who probably won't be here in a years time.

Rashford will be fine. He has the right attitude and will work hard to improve.

Don't think Jose rates Martial tbh.

Lingard is shit so the less we see of him the better.

I also read it from a different source. Auba can be deadly on the right wing and other than Valencia we don't have much threat from right wide positions.

Mourinho has explicitly stated he trusts rashford.

Belotti rumours make no sense, Morata was identified by several journos as our priority for #9 and we are reportedly fighting the fees quoted by Real and have offered €60m then tuttosport, said to be unreliable by caf members, says we are willing to go €80m for belotti  (as a side note, di marzio reported on tuttosport's article and a few thought he was reporting the story himself, he wasn't, he was saying 'this is what this lot are saying')

Morata to United for 73 m€. He will go on monday to sign for 5 years.

He actually gushed about Rashford in that interview he did with Rio at the end of season. He sees Rashford as someone with great desire and work ethic and those things are of paramount importance to Mou.

Personally I don't think we are signing both players anyway.

Long before this announcement it was said Zlatan didn't want to pick up wages whilst injured so i doubt his release is actually a release, he'll be back for our post-January push.

About £64m, ridiculous fee but that is the market today.

If he lives up to his potential he will be a good buy at that price, just like Pogba was a good buy when you see the likes of VVD touted around for £60m.

I would hope there's performance related targets in that rather than it all being guaranteed.

At least both of those players have played in CL finals and have winners medals in the big leagues.
