Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

With James it is perfect without it is a fight for top 4 unless Martial and Rashford magically become goalscoring machines. Hate to be negative but it is just the way i see it currently.

I don't think it has to be magic, Martial just needs to get back to the levels of his first season and Rashford just needs to maintain his form through the whole of the season. He has only played just of a years worth of football and both will continue to get better.

What is happening with them is normal for young players.

Perisic for 50 million, Morata for 80 or 90, we're really getting fleeced this summer. I thought we'd stand a bit stronger under Jose, but that doesn't appear to be the case. He, apparently, wants certain players at all costs, so that's what we're seemingly going for. The worst part is, I don't believe Morata and Perisic will truly significantly improve us.

When I hear United wants to sign Perisic, I`m thinking Wow Mourinho is really going to hand the keys to Rashford/Martial and getting some veteran cover for them. Good veteran squad player, who´ll do a job, when asked, but otherwise accepts his bench role at a big club. Then I hear €50M and I get confused.

Wow, that really is an insightful comment you've made, well done.
Sorry, but it's completely true. Short of funding their new stadium for them, there is literally no chance were signing Harry Kane.

Hope Madrid don't report us for tapping up Morata :nervous:

Current transfer fees are ridiculous. Bang average players are going for ridiculous fees, let alone the added tax when it comes to our club being involved in it.

Weren't Valencia doing fine until Ryan replaced Diego Alves (think he injured himself or something) and when he came back the coach insisted on Ryan anyway? Hmm.

So glad to see Milan 'biting' again.

Sick of Juventus just strolling to the Serie A title every year and Real Madrid and Barcelona dominating the CL. Milan is a traditional CL giant. They will not lose CL finals like Juve does repeatedly. It will be great to see them gradually return to top level. They have a lot of catching up to do though.

I'm torn whether Morata agreeing to terms and announcing it helps or hurts United in regards to negotiating the fee with Real. Can see that going either way honestly.

No surprise here. I'm not sure how anyone really thought it would play out any differently. I would concede that perhaps there is some kind of January 6 month deal worked out, but highly doubtful. It's unfortunate, but after the serious injury and recovery time needed, there was zero chance of Untied extending the previous deal.

I am so waiting for Perisic to start playing for United. No player has been more wrongly described here. 'Average', 'old', 'poor', 'ordinary', 'one dimensional' etc. Watch how he will light up Old Trafford.

That's my issue with it. I don't mind the likes of Morata and Perisic per se, but the prices we pay suggests we view them as starters and long-term options. They're decent squad players for a club with our ambitions, but that's about it.

I'm wanting to believe this. But I can't tell if that's just my internal muppet trying to take over.

I'm not saying he's average, I'm just stating the current state of the transfer market.
