Exactly. You'd think they signing players that are similar to his Bayern and Barca squad.

That midfield and defence is still shocking. Kyle Walker is decent, but he's no Alves or Lahm. He was probably the weak link in the Spurs defence and teams fancied they could get at him.

Still don't see any players that can dictate the game for Pep. Fabinho isn't that type of player.

I think it's just setting up for disaster with that defence and midfield. Most of the best prem sides in history have had one fullback that is slightly more defensive than the other. Mendy and Walker is over kill. Maybe it would work in one team or two team leagues, but not the prem. It works for Spurs because they a high pressing team, they have good two centre back with Wanyama and Dembele protecting. City have just one good centre back. Stones is accident waiting to happen.

The new goalkeeper is still young and will need time to settle. Karius was highly rated and look what happened to him. De Gea needed time.

What is stopping Pep from setting his team up similar system/formation as poch? He could very well want Fabinho to partner Fernando as a defensive 2 infront of the back four.
Pep´s teams are also high pressing, generally his teams have a higher defensive line than Poch (most of the time).

And juve too.

For all the respect Di Marzio gets in here his transfers rumours about PSG have always not only been false but often completely absurd.

Let's see if the trend continues this year.

Probably stupid to say when it's not even June yet, but I thought more teams would be hot out the blocks after the season ended than just Man city

They probably are but without the open cheque book its not easy to complete their deals. More negotiation required.

City are heavily linked with quality players and have started doing things about it but there are more and more posts in this thread about Pep and his team. I get the bias and rivalry but crickey they aren't making that many that worried, are they?

Yep  And the comparisons more often than not seem to have more to do with appearance and skin color than actual playing style, which makes it even more ridiculous.

Yeah  That's why they're so cringe-worthy.

Not sure if I believe we bid 50m less. If anything we would be bidding more.

We made the bid much earlier than City. I think it was reported a month ago or at least 2-3 weeks ago. City's bid was reported yesterday. I dont think we would make a bid of 130m for a striker this summer when we are after Griezmann the same summer. The spending would go through the roof. We could afford it but 85m was a nice starting bid to test Monaco a bit.

Can't trust them anymore after B.Silva news.

Opinions, and i know people dont like Silva talk on here and get quite salty, but i still think we were interested/talking to him as reported, maybe he was a backup or first choice. But there were heavy rumours even before Canal+ said we were in advanced talks. As soon as Mourinho was appointed, Silva got linked to us on a few occasions.

The way City finished the deal that quickly proves there was zero competition on B.Silva from any club.

How do you know how quickly it was resolved? It could have been the end result of 2 months work for all we know. Rare is it that the first news you hear is the lad on the plane over, but that's the end result of a lot of ground work.

Mbappe isn't going anywhere this season imo. I also doubt we haven't bid for Mendy.
