Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

£78m.. Perez is crazy. He's basically trying to get us to fund most of the Mbappe deal. If that's the case, Dave stays, and Morata stays at Madrid. I'd rather we try for Lacazette anyway. The market is crazy.

"Why haven't we signed anyone yet?!?"

United make an offer for a player

"Don't want! Too expensive! Feck off!"

As a poster just wrote Madrid know that there are not top strikers in the market.
The prices have been shocking this summer but understandable after Higuaín and Pogba.
The lack of value in the market doesn't change the fact that United need goals
ِAnd I assume you think Morata is one of the few top strikers in the market

If we are spending that sort of money might as well add a few million and go for Kane or Kylian.

Imagine the meltdown if we sold him so easily without bringing anyone else in.

We won't. Woodward is a savvy businessman and Mourinho is a shark in the market. We did great business last summer, and we'll do as well as we can given market conditions this summer.

Please stop this stupid argument about him being a bench warmer. He's a squad player for a team that have Benzema and Ronaldo in attack ffs.

And average he is not. Average is Jesse Lingard or Phil Jones, NOT Morata.

Lingard is bellow average, Morata is average. I dont care if he is a bench warmer in Madrid or any other team. He is not a crucial essential player for his team and that's why he is not worth half that money. He had a bellow average season in Juventus scoring only 7 goals in 34 league matches. If this is not average for you, I cant say more to convince you.

But using that logic, top tier goal keepers are even rarer, so that'll mean United can realistically ask for €120m for De Gea.

Usually the people who call many of the transfers too expensive (like myself) are not in any rush. I wouldn't want us to be the idiots to pay £50m, for Perisic or £80m for Morata. I'd rather the club took their time to lower the price or find another alternative. If the price seems right, they should by all means move quickly but not otherwise.

If you've actually watched him as you claim to have, you'd know he's a perfect fit for a Mourinho team. As in, literally perfect. You couldn't find a midfielder more suited to Mourinho.

Can you even read mate? Literally wrote i read he plays quite far forward. Never mentioned having watched him. Feck me.

Madrid can go with Navas again next season anyway, while we badly need a striker.

I die a little bit inside whenever I see £m mentioned for strikers we pursue.
As someone said, there is no point pushing for Morata while De Gea is on the table, they will look to rip us apart if possible.
Lukaku would be my pref choice, but looks like he is Chelsea bound. Think we should go all out for Lacazette

That would be the sensible decision, although I disagree on Lukaku not keen on that idea either. I totally lack faith that Jose is even considering Lacazette though, depressing.

Yes, but there are alternatives for us as well, like Belotti for starters. I think this is just a negotiating stance for Madrid. Morata, if he leaves, will go for much less.

Belotti will be much more expensive than Morata even with Real's ridiculous price. You'll need to pay the release clause of Belotti which is 87m and forget about negotiating the price because Torino's board is too stubborn on that release clause part.

In this current market that means absolutely nothing. Bellerin signed a new 6.5-year contract last November. He's on contract till summer '23.

Arsenal could ask for £100m and there's nothing Barca can do. Bellerin can kick a bit of fuss, but with 6 years more on contract Arsenal hold all the cards.

If Morata goes for anything above 40m euros, then somebody needs to be arrested. He is, by some distance, the least talented of all the strikers we've been linked to and his goal record is mediocre, at best.

Terrible scoring record for Juve
Bit part player at Madrid
Untested in English football
and massively overrated.

I'd rather rely on Rashford, Martial and wait on Zlatan returning, than spunk 78 million on Morata.
feck me, like, if Madrid value Morata at 78m, how much should they be willing to pay for Mbappe? 250m?

Out of interest, if we were to stick with that we've got and make Rashford our forward until Zlatn returns, how would you feel if we were once again competing for 6th? Would you still be happy with that decision?

Which is exactly why we should steer clear NOW. They are in no rush and we shouldn't dance around for 3 months over the Spanish Welbeck (yes, I liked that analogy).

There's not even a single similarity between them.

Anyway better to transfer the talk to Morata thread before Damien got mad and close the thread again :D

Which is twice as much as he is worth.

Only striker worth >60M out there is Auba (forget the burger bap).

I am kind of curious to hear from any Chelski fans or fans of other teams that experienced transfer periods under Mou. It wouldn't surprise me if he s as sly about playing the transfer market as he is in psychological warfare. With the amount of media attention any United transfer gossip gets it must be pretty simple to put these so called people in the know on the wrong trail.

Just get the feck away from those circus cnuts of a club. Let them find some other club ready to pay their Mbappe.

Absolutely not but Morata is not going to change that. Rashford will get more goals in the PL than Morata would.
