Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

The thing is, the players we signed looked like decent players (and I don’t think they’re all that bad). I think Ugarte, De Ligt and Yoro would be shining if they were at Brighton, Bournemouth, Forest or Villa and we’d be looking at them saying ‘how come we didn’t sign those players’.
Agreed. The problem is the pressure they're put under constantly because teams don't fear our inept attack nor our press. Plus Ugarte is a one man midfield most games.

Obviously our scouting netwotk is on amateur level.
All they found in the last two years is a kid wrestler with massive price tag and Afroman impressionist playing because he got high.

Out of the thousands of professional footballers around the world we can't find a single striker when our pair has 5 goals between them in last 6 months?
And we are only linked with a teeneager kind of a winger who hasn't scored yet this season?

I’d rather we don’t spend than spend on another misfit. The season is finished. It’s all about avoiding relegation.
Incredible situation.

Yeah, at this point limp through to the Summer, try and win the cups if we can. But aim to hit the ground running in the Summer. I want to see us with a purposeful transfer strategy and really shake down the squad.

Best in class and can't even decide if we should loan someone in or not because it might look bad? Fecking hell. It's hardly going to look worse than finishing 16th because we can't score goals. Worst case isn't actually worse than doing nothing at this point. At least try instead of being spineless. Do they even understand what club they have bought into?

That’s our season basically over. Meanwhile you have city spending and buying whoever they want. Spurs doing the same.

We’ll be lucky to finish 15th this season and that’s on INEOS, no one else!
It's hard to blame INEOS for what happened before but...

Internal fighting in summer over whether to keep or sack ETH. Everyone could see he wasn't going to work.

The money spent in the summer and the extra money to get rid of him.

All of that is on them.

I can understand we've given up on the league, sure. But why are we giving up on the EL as well? Surely we still need attacking incomings to stand a chance for a cup run?

Considering how things have gone with Nice, I am sure its wont bpother them as much as it bothers us the fans.

Like Nice fans warned us -- they promised a lot at the start. But will quickly disappoint with the lack of financial support; together with the constant changes of head coaches.

It’s similar to the mess Nice found themselves in isn’t it?

Yeah I agree. Panic buying makes no sense. We won't buy players who will help us get into top 4/6 and we have a squad that should be finishing top half. The manager has more than enough to finish in the top half so qe may as well write off the season, go all out in Europa and plan for next season.

You can see why we’ve bought so much shite in recent years. Fans absolutely salivate at any transfer, regardless of ability, long term value or effect on the season.

There's a middle ground here though where you don't leave your new manager with two of the least threatening forwards in the league as his only striking options.

There are plenty of players in the Premier league who could've come in during this window and given us some much needed experience and physical presence up front.

Season ruined because we didn’t sign a 19 year old who hasn’t scored a goal all fecking season. Oddly enough the season was fecked after we had a truly abysmal summer spending over 200m signing players who didn’t improve us or address any of our key issues and who most of this forum went wild over.

I don’t get how we managed to deplete/make the squad worse during the manager’s first transfer window when it was already crying out for help.

I keep looking at the fourth wall camera like the characters in The Office, in disbelief.

I mean, we could still be in with a shout in the Europa, but we don’t even have the bodies

I agree panic buying doesn’t work.

I always remember the players bought by Arsenal after we beat them 8-2. Arteta aside, who wasn’t spectacular either, I’d rather we avoid our own Andre Santos
