Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

I’d rather keep Rashford for 15 goals personally.
Same but he clearly needs a new environment.

Tel would have been a bad loan option anyway. The team needs an experienced forward like Osimhen or Morata. Hell even Nkunku would have been fine as long as it was a loan and Garnacho wasn't going the other way.

What did you want INEOS to do? Our finances are fecked from years and years of mismanagement.
Which they have continued. First they keep ten hag then sack him at great expense, then recruit ashworth and sack him at great expense, spend a shit load of money on transfers which don't improve the team then recruit a manager that requires a huge amount of money to make his system work. Its a shambles and just saying it was a mess to begin with doesn't cut it

Yes and it's their decisions which have created the current circumstances, INEOS hired Amorim in the midst of the season not waiting until the summer. They opted for a manager that requires total recreation of the squad given the demands of his philosophy and system. They knew the manager would have one window being in winter, the hardest market to negotiate essentially being his pre season of opportunity.

INEOS didn't do what FSG did by assessing alternatives to Amorim, not due to his lack of credentials but the feasibility of his management with the present group of players available. INEOS have created the situation United are concurrently in, the lack of finances only compounds the issue but all in all it is demonstrable of poor planning. Now we all as spectators can have an opinion but time isn't required to measure competence. Their handling of Erik, Ashworth, Amorim (giving him a deadline to join) and now the window has exposed their ineptitude.

Honestly, it doesn't even take an ounce of critical thinking to see how poor they have executed decisions.

This needs to be pinned

Osimhen was some sort of deal we could have done. Dont see anyone else.
Yeah, him or Morata, like others mentioned.

What's Robin van Persie doing these days ?
Playing against a 12 men Eredivisie team

You’re not serious, are you?

Getting rashford out was essential for a cultural reset. And what would Rashford help us achieve? End ninth or tenth in the table?
Getting him, his mentality and his wages out is much more important than that

I even dare to argue that with him and Antony out and Dorgu in, this is a reasonable transfer window. Far from perfect, let me be clear. Getting a striker in would have made it very good. Also selling Casemiro would have made it perfect.

The board is not looking at this season anymore, and I think that makes sense.
A LWB is secured now, and if I’m right, so i our RWB (Quenda) per this summer.

That gives them plenty of time to get that proven striker (Osimhen, Gyokeres) and preferably an extra CM (Ederson?) this summer

And if you look at the core of our team and on who were/ are bought by the Ineos regime:

————————Onana—————————
——Yoro——De Ligt——Mazrauoi/ Martinez—
Quenda—Mainoo—UgarteDorgu
————Amad————Bruno————
————Osimhen/Gyokeres————

Then, sorry for being positive on a day like this, I would say our squad rebuild is actually progressing really well, and should put us in a spot to (at least ) compete for spot 4 in the upcoming season

I’m even still very confused about what transpired with Rashford. Like, I get he wasn’t lighting up trees, but no one else is/was (Amad aside). And I get he had that interview where he said he wanted a new challenge, but that was after like two weeks of briefings that the club was looking to sell him - so I just assumed it was to get his wages off the table and bring someone else in - because Rashford - for all his shortcomings - is one of the few players that actually scored under Amorim.

Odd squad planning if this is all there is to our business. Whole thing is odd to me.

I think most assume his attitude stunk behind the scenes and Amorim decided that he can’t rely on this guy when the chips are down, which they certainly aRe right now

It's been reported in the Athletic that the club found out he was out the Friday night before the Everton game which he denied.

He then turned up looking fatigued for training a few weeks later before the Manchester Derby. He was apparently asked if he'd been out by Amorim and denied it, but the club heard later that he had been out that night. That's why he was dropped.

Given what we know about the Belfast trip and the rumours about his entourage being a bad influence, it's safe to say this has been a regular occurrence over the past few years.

Since he was dropped he apparently decided he wanted to leave and hasn't put in the required effort to get back in the team.

Fair enough. No issues with him leaving, I’m just thinking that once it became apparent that’s what was going to happen - we would/should have secured someone else for the manager

Oh from that perspective yes, we are a little light for the remainder of the season if no one else comes in before the deadline but there was no way back for Rashford.
He'd be back in the team now if he'd put the effort in.

I mean the 3 players leaving are pure shit. That one player is a huge upgrade on the 3 that have left and seems to be regarded as perfect for Amorim’s system. Tbh this season is a write off anyway. Aim to win the Europa and try sell as much of this shit squad as possible.
No doubt, but the manager still needs bodies. If 3 went out (however useless) — having only 1 coming in isn’t adequate. If the second had to be a loan - so be it - but there had to be another player brought in.

Now we all know where this dude got all his team news leaks from.
Don’t think that’s right is it? This guy is affiliated with the United Stand which is “Goldbridge’s” channel — who have an irrational hatred against Rashford, no?

If I remember correctly, before he was SamC_reports he was samC365 or something and always got team leaks before games. He was pretty well known in FPL twitter circles who hang around twitter before FPL deadlines for team leaks. I don't know when he got affiliated with the United Stand but him tweeting that picture as worldwide exclusive confirms to me that Rashford was his source for the team leaks over the years.

Ahhh. Yeah I remember that account name, actually. Fair enough / you’re probably right

And the leaks have died down since Amorim started to drop him from the matchday squads.
Yup. Such a shame Rashford turned out this way. A local lad at that who proclaims to love United with all his heart. He has confirmed what we have all suspected for years.

That announcement video is sickening. Just the sight of the rat and his celebration pisses me off now. Hopefully he never comes back.

If our beloved new men in charge can't manage to get a single striker through the doors - then clearly they are not very good at their job. Because in all honest, it would not take much to find someone better than our strikers

Can’t believe INEOS are defended to death on here. They are ruining us.

Yeah and there’s still people defending him or calling out the decision to get rid of him. We aren’t gonna improve standards if we stand for this crap
