Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

You can't say that with any confidence at all. We need a senior striker who knows how to put the ball in the back of the net regularly. That's not to say there's anyone like that available at the moment.
I really can. Hojlund has been very shit and I can defer to any Bayern fan's opinion, suppliment that with available stats and my own eye test from his videos to know that he's not going to be worse than an absolute shit show of a striker in Hojlund.

Very likely, why?

12 goals in 50 games for Bayern, where you’d assume he’d score more for one of if not the best team against easier opposition.

Hojlund has the same goals in one less game in a god awful United side.

I don’t understand why we’re not targeting a recognised 9.
Most of Tel's appearances are off the bench. Last season he was registering a frankly unsustainable goal per minute stat:

Hojlund could never.

Club couldn't be more incompetent. Wait till the last day of the window and panic. Absolute geniuses.

Literally no goals in the team and have t even tried to fix it. Should have been two attackers in minimum by now
Give yourself a break.
How are we panicking?!
Truth to be told - we are as mindfull as we have never been. Most probably.
As Amorim repeated - not to make the same mistakes.

We better get a fecking striker in. Either Ratcliffe fully commits to this club and invests or he sells again. Buying some 18 years olds won't be enough
What you expecting Ratcliffe to do? We aren’t held back by Ratcliffe not investing, we’re held back by PSR, we had to move someone on to get someone.

Agree. We can’t afford to overpay on every player we buy. We need to walk away from bad deals and get that recognition in the football community.

What does “a striker” mean? Just anybody? In January? Have you learnt nothing over the last 12 years.

OK, but just because what we have has turned into shit, buying or renting more square pegs for our round holes is not going to improve us.

Don't compare Tel to current Hojlund. Compare him to Zirkzee at Bologna, who had made Serie A team of the year in Italy. Is Tel better? No. Did Zirkzee save us? No. Why would Tel

How can you say Tel isn't better than Zirkzee?
Moreover the pursuit from us was loan with option, I don't see how thats remotely controversial - it would have been a very good deal at very low risk.

What’s it got to do with Tel? Bayern are the ones that rejected the deal.

The vibe I’m getting is the lad can’t decide if he was to stay or go…does a lap of goodbye in the last match, then rejects Spurs, then tells Bayern he’s undecided.

Hence my slight joke about him struggling to decide what he wants for dinner.

Just a lighthearted remark mate, It’s all rumours anyway, we know fook all really.

I am not saying it would have been a bad loan. I am saying you seem to have very high hopes for Tel, but those hopes evaporated with Zirkzee, that had even bigger reason to work, so just saying - don't put too much hope into what is essentially a gamble, with Tel or signings like him

I don't think we're getting anyone in, they'll have to try get Amorim to get Zirkzee and Hojlund to work till the summer

I dont have high hopes for tell. At no point did I suggest this.

See Morata has gone on loan to Gala. Would have been a very sensible loan move given the system/area we're lacking.

After seeing the match today, I’d rather a natural striker is used, so I’m giving the thumbs up to trying chido. At least he’d make the right runs

If we don’t sign a number 9 in this window we are truly (even more) fecked this season. Honestly I’d take someone like Chris Wood, just someone who knows how to put the ball in the net. People laughed when we were last linked but I’d take Arnautovic in a heartbeat on loan for the rest of the season.

I totally agree we need a striker, but we also need a more dynamic supply to him. the way we are at the minute I believe if we had an Erling Haaland he would have a crisis at old Trafford. And it's similar to why I don't think we would be wise to blood any young forwards at the club up top as the risk to damaging their confidence and reputation is too much. I genuinely feel Rasmus would be a success at a better club with a good supply, yea he needs to improve but his confidence is totally shot. Bad times

I can’t understand why we’re not vi linked with J.David?
Contract expires this summer, so should be payable and is a notorious goal scorer. 20+ goals per season in the last four. For a team whose best position has been nr. 4

For me, it’s a no brainer.

I wouldn't mind Nkunku as long as it's only a loan. We absolutely shouldn't buy, but he's a much more reliable goalscorer than Tel frankly. Not really a natural number 9 but given our current options he'd probably have to play there.

Osimhen still seems the very obvious option for us to go for, and I really don't understand why we haven't gone for that option. Even if we want Gyokeres in the summer, getting Osimhen on loan til the end of the season would be such a massive improvement for us. I remember it being confirmed that his current loan could be cancelled by Napoli so he could be loaned to another club, so that's not the problem.

Don’t want to get told off again, but:

Can’t see it anywhere in his twitter page but he must’ve have said it somewhere

So we’re ending up with no one despite losing Rashford and Antony. Brilliant. We ain’t winning anything this season

Tbf that was probably the case even if we did sign someone. I'm just hoping we avoid relegation at this stage (think we'll just squeak it out)

I absolutely will back the club not being cornered into 'obligation to buy' clause. We have made too many knee jerk mistakes in past and have ended up with players that are difficult to shift. If we can't get straight 6 month loan striker then better not having one then a bad one that severely restricts the club in the summer. This season is a right off anyway!

The problem is that we'll not sign any forwards, continue to get fecked because we have minimal threat upfront and that allows teams to actually go at us. This builds pressure on Amorim.

Our forward options are fecking trash and we've actually removed two players. It's incredible really. Very frustrating.

Yes we shouldn't panic at the end, but overall looking at the window it's a shambles how we've not brought in a loan striker to get us through till the summer. We knew Antony and possible Rashford was going on loan, that could have freed something for a loan striker like a Morata

That's all of the linked options gone. Unless United have someone lined up who they've not been linked to already, then don't expect a new forward to come in soon.

Terrible idea, he is trash. Not suited to the PL. Proved that at Chelsea.

Not true at all. He wasn't great and he isn't prolific but he managed 15 goals in his first season and almost 1 in 2 during his second. He would have been excellent for Europa and taken some of the pressure off our current hapless set of strikers.

100% this. Getting rid of Antony and Rashford was necessary as they are nowhere near to justifying their decision wages. Bringing in a player for the right money should be an option.

At this stage we need to limp to the end of the season and have our Finances in order to get the right players in, not the ones who happen to be available.
