Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

Do we have that sort of thing to sell then?

We could sell land around Old Trafford to a different company. We likely need it for the Old Trafford redevelopment but as long Ineos retain control it should be fine.

We could also sell The Cliff. We must be one of the few football teams with two training grounds.

Old Trafford

I would be fine with selling naming rights for 5 years if we are knocking it down anyway why not make some money in the meantime? Barcelona get about £60m a year from Spotify.

The obvious proviso should be that is used to improve clubs finances by paying down debts. No dividends.

We tend to keep academy players too long, hoping they'll reach their potential whilst their value plummets.
Maybe, but there is academy players Garnacho and there are academy players like Gibson, Cleverley, Will Huges etc. Many will have solid careers in football but won’t ever reach the heights of Garnacho. He already represents his country at senior level and counts Messi amongst his admirers. He is a special one and could be WC if handled correctly.

We should have at least explored these options

Yeah, the thing is a hotel in Chelsea is a lot more valuable than the Cliff. The land around Old Trafford may have significant value to developers soon. Maybe once we know what & where the stadium will be we can sell of it off to housing and commercial real estate developers.

£70M for a player who has not started for them for over 2 years now, has 29 appearances, mostly as a substitute, and has scored 5 PL Goals since he has been at Chelsea? Behave. The price for Garnacho just went to £90M for Chelsea.

So they want 70m for a 27 year old flop who has managed more than 30 league games twice in his career, and want to give 60m for a 20 year old fantastic talent with 150 games already at a high level.

Honestly, if anything like this is even remotely entertained we should be at full protest at training ground mode. What absolutely infuriating twisted logic are we supposed to accept?

You’ll get Ratcliffe sympathisers defending this. Redcafe is full of them.

There's no way we will go for nkunku at that price but we should absolutely be valuing garnacho way higher if we're even considering selling. United will keep getting shafted in the market if we keep letting it happen

Spent 20 days of this transfer window lamenting the lack of activity.

Now I'm looking back and wishing it things were still the same. So who are these experts we got in to do these deals?

I don’t know what a Ratcliffe sympathiser is but Nkunku does suit our new system significantly better. Obviously, those valuations are a non-starter.

Over priced, Injury prone Chelsea cast off? Sounds exactly like someone we would be interested in

If the club even considers Nkunku, we deserve to be relegated. Blow the whole thing up and start again.

I mean it’s just common sense negotiating.

Overvalue things you’re trying to sell, undervalue things you’re trying to buy.

The money Barca gets from Spotify is mostly for the shirt sponsorship. The stadium naming rights are worth very little because it's an established stadium that everyone continues to refer to by its old name.

As a reminder, Nkunku hasn't even agreed to personal terms with United like he has with Bayern Munich (Tier 2):

How is Nkunku a potential target if we won’t meet the asking price?

You can say that about any player. ‘Lionel Messi is a potential United target but we don’t want to pay for him.’

What a joke.
They really do be using our name to stay relevant. They haven’t a fecking clue.
