Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

Comments like that must make Zirkzee feel like shit. Not very PC from the boss. I don't like it.
Really? He said he wanted to keep him and that he’s trying hard in training.

I read it that Zirkzee would be the one pushing for the move. If Amorim wants to keep him and Zirkzee wants to stay, why would this be a conversation?

I wouldn't be against it.

If someone offered £60m for Garnacho tomorrow, I'd take it in a heartbeat as atm it doesn't look like he's going to fit in Amorims system and seemingly has a poor attitude.

I don't think Mainoo has enough athleticism playing in a two man midfield, he also doesn't have the stamina for it either, which is a big worry.

If we got between £140-160m for the pair, that would go a long way in sorting the squad out to how Amorim wants to shape it and it would also be £140-160m pure profit on PSR.
I think you should take your medication son if you believe that.

Mainoo is potentially one of the best players we've produced in years. No way he should be sold unless the offer was 150-200 million, i.e. too good to refuse. Even then I'd be gutted

Is he any good?
If he wants to, yes... he's a very good goalscorer and not bad with the ball at his feet, good in the air as well. But and there's sadly a but here, I'm not 100% sure of bringing in attackers from the Balkans, cause they can quickly become complacent and "happy enough" because "they've made it".

I also thought he was much older.

I haven‘t seen much games of him but didn‘t stand out in any of them

Shocked me too as I've seen a fair bit of him and he's a decent striker but I don't think he's good enough frankly. Good in the air, strong and decent finish with good hold up play, not particularly fast, not great at pressing, not the best dribbler - I just don't think he's what we need from what I've seen and he would look worse in the PL with his lack of pace.

Took a glance at their forum and apparently he's been caught with some woman of ill repute just recently.

Make of that what you will.

There’s no way they are giving us Vlahovic for Zirkzee!
Thing here is Zirkzees relationship with Motta, Motta loves him and made him play his best football. He fits perfectly in the Motta system and you can see why this could happen. Vlahovic would be a solid addition and give us proper box presence and his left foot is lethal. Ironically our system fits Vlahovic perfectly and Juve's system fits Zirkzee perfectly. What I'd do is Zirkzee plus 30m for Vlahovic and Luiz. If we can get that done, Luiz and Ugarte midfield would be sensational.

If he gets any service

Nice variety of goals.
I think he could be tailor-made for the Amorin system, which is designed to feed the ball into the CF. Also looks very capable in the air, so could be a good target man, which we sorely lack. Has the eastern European intensity, so you know he's running all day, in behind and down the channels.
The kicker is he could be the only one where a deal with Zirkzee going the other way is a viable option. 30 to 40 million plus Zirkzee could work.

Ridiculous, if Rashford has aspirations to play for england then take a paycut to join Milan, otherwise find yourself in the reserves. I'm sick of these footballers who make zero effort and then expect to get the move they want and for it to be subsidised by United.

Unfortunately, as pointed out above, he's not fast, and doesn't press well, so isn't really suited to our system that well. Would much rather Luiz if we do any sort of swap with Juve, and look for a more suitable striker elsewhere.

Indifferent on Garnacho but Mainoo should be a player who Ruben can develop into his system.
Agreed. Garnacho would also give us a lot of profit on any sale given we only paid £420,000 for him.

He doesn’t quite fit the system but he’s a great bench option to have right now to run at players.

Mainoo however I think could be a very good PL midfielder for us for a while. He needs someone to take pressure off him like an Ederson to rotate him and Ugarte with.

He's definitely better than Zirkzee and a number 9 which Zirkzee isn't. Whether he's good enough for us or why Juve would even be interested in this swap is up for debate.
They are interested because he's a bad fit for the Thiago Motta system, which is what Zirkzee was perfect for. In theory, with a swap deal, both teams get players that are better fits for their coaches.
Not saying it'll happen of course but I can see why it makes sense.

Agreed with everything you said but why would they do this for £30m?

I'm sure someone mentioned Vlahovic being on crazy wages.

There's conflicting reports online but I had a look around and on the Juve Reddit and it seems the deal was structured in such a way that his salary was rising during his contract to a max of €230k, which would make him the highest paid player in Serie A.

Over the length of his contract his wages average at about €176k but obviously he'll feel he's owed the higher wage regardless of whether he moves or not.

Ah ok it makes sense from that perspective then. I suppose that could explain his lower goal scoring rate since 20/21 & 21/22 when he hit 21 and 24 league goals?

We wast

Him and his agent know that United will contribute something, so there would be little sense in being overly eager to take a pay cut when it might not be necessary. As much as there is an incentive for him to play, there is also an incentive for us to get him off the books and potentially increase his value/reputation while out on loan.
