Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

Not really. Just because he's the right profile for them, doesn't make him right for us. Maybe we can buy him back just to sell him for a bit of dollar.

But he is exactly right for us. He is tailor made for the wingback position.

Is he? I haven't watched him too much however the little I've seen makes me question that he is.
What we need in that LWB position is explosiveness, engine to shuttle back and forth as well as delivery into the box. He doesn't look explosive to me but to honest, if the club and Amorim have IDed him as the right profile, I'll be open minded about it.

The reason we sold him was that he doesnt really work as a old school fullback, but he is very talented at wingback, especially given his movement forward. He would be huge upgrade on what we have.

I think right now the bar very low on players that'll improve us at LWB tbh. Question is would he be the solution or is he a stop gap that'll need upgrading soon.
Also, genuine question, have you watched his games or is it highlight reels you're accessing him on?
I'm going off the reels and from what I've seen, he doesn't seem to attack down the line a lot. He tends cuts in and uses his right foot. A bit like Malacia but much more attacking.

How is Osimhen doing, wherever he is this season? I thought he went out on loan, why would you send such a prolific striker on loan?

Not a rosy situation between Osimhen and Napoli. The conflict escalated to the point he will never play for them again.

He has 12 goals and 5 assists in all competitions for Galatasaray. Not bad imo.

Look at his FB ref. His progressive carries and passes are both very high. I have seen quite a few and he mixes overlaps and cut ins. His forward movement is very effective

Has his defensive game improved? I seem to remember it being a weakness but we could do a lot worse than him. If he can do a job, best case scenario is he locks up the position and allows us to focus on other positions and worst case is he does a job for a couple of seasons as first choice then we make a decision after sorting issues elsewhere.

Good Lord, Ten Hag really fecked us hard. We sold him to balance PSR books so that we could buy who? Mount, Hoijlund? Unreal incompetence.

Still can't believe the crazy contract we've given Rashford, he has us over a barrel now. Can see a really unhelpful loan somewhere where we cover half his insane wages.

Why can’t you believe it? We’ve done it over and over. Sanchez, Nani (we paid 2/3 of his wages at sporting) Sancho and so on. This is just how we roll. The only other club that have had this many misses for mega money is Barca with the likes of Greizmann and Dembele Coutinhio etc and they are still a total shambles to this day. At least we’ve put the breaks on. This would be the equivalent of Mbappe going on strike and then going out on loan next season with Real paying 50% of his wages. It doesn’t seem to happen nearly as often to the other big clubs as they do their due diligence

Thanks to this plonker

He's set us back twice as many years as he managed us

Astounding how people still think contract renewals are solely decided by a manager.

Exactly. The glazers are only delighted to prop one of our own who cost them nothing as this world star. We’ve never given a single player more than 200k a week and it been worth it. Bruno since he got his new deal has been all over the place. Shaw broke down almost immediately. Rashford. Sancho. Casemiro beyond the first 6 months. Varane. Sanchez. DDG. They don’t want to admit their mistakes and take financial hits fixing the problems that they created in the first place. Give a new contract, it’s better than having to go back into the market. These fools were offering Pogba a new deal FFS

Moreover Rashford came off the back an outstanding goalscoring season, even if Ten Hag said hes not the guy the board would have ignored him.

I would go so far as to suggest that its 90% the people above the manager. I'm sure they consult the manager on the player but beyond that he will have little to do with the length and value of the contract.

It's exhausting isn't it... on the ETH thread he's getting blamed for every single signing we made under him plus the amount we paid.

Even if he had horrendous talent ID (which is very possible) and also had control over who we signed (again, possible) then it's the organisations fault for allowing it to happen.

If a bus company decided that they're going to let the bus driver maintain the engine despite being a shit mechanic then it's the bus company's fault not the driver's.

Yeah but why let facts in the way of bashing EtH.

My exclusively made up response, will osimhen be greedy and price himself out of the market again?

I think we need to stay away from these kinds of disruptive star name players and find a solution that is more than the sum of its parts like Liverpool do with their forward line. We just need lively hardworking players who can also finish

I tend to agree even if I somewhat curious as to whether osimhen will look the same in the PL

Rashford probably has his own little game going on in his head: 'how many coaches can I outlast?' If he holds on just a bit longer...
