Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

Can that now be used to get his wages right down?

I'm sure he wants to play at least somewhere.
Milan apparently have an offer on the table but it's thought they need to shift Bennacer to Saudi Arabia to actually follow through.

Ben Yedder?

16 in 32 last season
No.

«On 11 August 2023, prosecutors in Nice charged Ben Yedder and his brother with rape, attempted rape, and sexual assault, in relation to an alleged incident involving two women that happened in July in Beausoleil, Alpes-Maritimes.»

If we'd managed to Ugarte on a loan with obligation or gotten rid of Casemiro then McTominay would have stayed. Rough but so it is.

A shame we couldn't convince Sesko to join. Btw, that Muppetiers tweet that people were shitting on for credibility was 100% right before anyone else mentioned anything about ETH being unhappy with McTominay sale and unconvinced by Ugarte.
Yeah Muppetiers does get news but they're not a reliable source. But I pay attention because it's more right than not.

Sancho to Chelsea is official

Finally!

Whatever was delaying the official announcements / confirmations from the clubs, I'm just glad it's not prevented the deal from going through.

Ideally, would have preferred him to go to Juventus than Chelsea, but just happy that we've got a problem out of the club and have saved on his wages and, hopefully, get the transfer fee at the end of the season.

Oh no I guess Ugarte should be worried considering ETH's impeccable eye for talent.

There's no loan fee, but Chelsea are covering the majority of Sancho's wages.

Sancho transfer fee : ~25M
Sancho wages saved for next 2 years : (8+12) = 20M
So profit : 45M

If we had sold him outright :
Transfer fee : ~25M
Sancho wages saved : (12+12) = 24M
Profit : 49M

If we had sold outright, we would have had 4M more profit, but maybe Sancho needs to put as a sale for next year due to his book value being lesser next year.

Oh right. I don't really see the problem there..he wasn't sure but was shown the evidence by the others on the committee and got onboard.

Isn't that how things are supposed to work?

In my defence I was referring to the line in the tweet. Didn't click the article because I thought it was the athletic which I don't subscribe to.

Exactly. Keane was a complete all-rounder and Carrick was a playmaker. Ugarte is a pure destroyer, a type of midfielder we haven't really seen often at United. Fergie considered such midfielders too limited.

Schneiderlin is probably the only other comparable United midfielder who springs to mind. Ugarte has a much better engine than him though.

Keane wasn't complete at 23.

At that age Robson was teaching him to become more involved. Keane's said himself he watches old games and can't believe how basic his passing was when he was younger.

The passing of time has the effect of characterising a player at their 28 year old peak. As if that's the player they always were.

No loan fee and not covering full wages. Ngl that's not great. I was hoping at the minimum his wages would be fully covered. Probably going to be sold for £20m next season which is only about £5m above his book value I think. Not sure how much we're saving on wages but it's less than the full £13m (maybe somewhere around £8-10m).

Most players moving I wish good luck . Not on this one. You didn't give the club respect and I'm pretty sure the rest of your career will play out showing your lack of drive and professionalism. Good riddance.

Worst signing ever in my opinion. Worse than Antony who at least tries to overcome how poor he is. Sancho never once looked like wanting to be here, or anywhere. Absolutely delighted he's gone and couldn't care less if he wins a balon dor elsewhere. He was like a spoilt child who decided he was done here.

The air is fresher without him stinking up the place already

Well look he's gone. It seems like the stipulations to make the deal permanent are a sure thing and they're paying most of his wages and they'll give us 20-25m. He's a sinkhole who'd never play so for me it's a good deal.

It's a pretty poor deal but he'd clearly fallen out with Ten Hag so between them they were always going to cost us money.

Yeah I can see why Chelsea would leak the details of that deal. United pretty much gave him away

No loan fee, Chelsea not even covering the entirety of his wages and the obligation to buy fee isn’t even guaranteed to be £25m - dependent on Chelsea’s success this season. Yikes

But it is what it is

They're still mad to do the deal. It just does not seem necessary on their side. Unless they sell him to some subsidiary at a profit. He's certainly not going to light up the PL.

People are talking so matter factly about this because it hasn’t worked out at United, but I’ve seen stranger things happen

He was a top5 most productive wingers in Europe in consecutive seasons by age 20. His technical ability is not really in question - if he works on his mental fortitude and starts looking after himself, who knows? People speak about him lacking the explosiveness to make it in this league, but a different system may help him - he may also feel he has a point to prove now

Still, uphill battle, Chelsea has 300 players and he’ll be back home in London with a thousand distractions - so good chance it doesn’t work out - I’m just saying I’ve seen stranger things happens
