I've only heard of Tapsoba as he's been linked to Spurs. How does he play? Todibo sounds like a good fit, in terms of being comfortable on the ball.
Tapsoba does look comfortable on the ball too, but I think Tapsoba has a bit more aggressive defending style and have seen him being very dominant in the air. I think Tapsoba or the other Bayer young CB Hincapie are both very good options.

Sounds like we've got at least two irons in the fire with Todibo and Tapsoba.

If this is anything like the time we were cookie jarring Hojlund and Kolo Muani earlier this summer, the club probably has a clear number 1 target in mind.

Who do people think is going to be EtH's preferred option?

Todsoba.

Judging purely on name basis, Todibo looks a bit more promising than Tapsoba. However, if someone saw both of them playing, their opinion may be of interest here

Hincapie is left-footed though so would only make sense if we wanted someone as a back-up to Licha.

Tapsoba gives you what Todibo does but is better in the air imo. I think he is a more direct replacement for Varane and gives better balance next to Martinez. He loves a cheeky awkward looking dribble circa 2010-2012 Chris Smalling which is always fun.

Rather we sign another CM then a replacement CB for moment.

Still think were going to get caught out when Casemiro is not available
Mctominay and Fred will leave so it's virtually guaranteed that we'll sign a CM.

I had heard of neither player before yesterday, just based on YT alone Tapsoba looks a much better player IMO, plus would have the added bonus of denying him from Hotspurts

Going off purely stats, he doesn't have the same aerial ability as Varane, doesn't seem to win many duels

Benjamin Pavard still wants to leave FCBayern . Discussions are already taking place with Manchester United held on a move. Fittingly, West Ham are working on a transfer for Harry Maguire .

I'd rather Todibo than Pavard.

It was never a stumbling block.

That whole fantasy was concocted out of thin air by the usual Maguire haters who tried to characterise him as greedy or arrogant or whatever, just so they could have another thing to hate about him.

If they couldn't smear him with a reality, they'd smear him with a fantasy. Either way, the important thing was to smear him.
I believe that was negotiated between the clubs. If you will recall, there was a prior bid of 30 million that United rejected. The rumor was that we wanted 35. Stands to reason that our now accepting 30 is because West Ham have agreed to subsidize his wages for the first two years of the contract.

Any 3 of the CB options linked would be good, I'd be happy signing any of them.

I'd get shouted down for this but I prefer a younger CB brought in.
I would usually agree but signing a defender like Pavard in his prime with his experience, being available for the same price we sold Maguire for doesn't come around often.

Pavard makes sense as he'll probably get games at RB as well as CB. Makes even less sense to boost AWB wages though if it is the option we go for.

Can Pavard play midfield? Not full time obviously, but for occasions when Casemiro is unavailable.

Can Pavard play striker? Not full time obviously, but for occasions when our strikers are unavailable?

What's the EtH-Pavard connection? Has he played in Twente or something?

Pavard would be my choice. Has the big game experience we need as well.

Really hope all these deals are concluded sharpish.

I much prefer business to be done rather than the weird deadline day randomness we've become accustomed to.

At the moment it's certainly nice to see deadwood actively being pushed out of the door in a nice way. It's a huge shift from 'preserving value' which just led to absolute rot.

And then on top of all that, knowing we are lining up the likes of Amrabat, possibly Pavard and other options is certainly quite reassuring. Good, capable footballers, good ages, good injury records etc.

But I'll hold my praise for the entire window until it's all signed and sealed and considered game over for United.

Can Pavard buy the club? Not full time obviously, but to get the Glazers out and to see if anyone else is available.
