Whilst I do agree that midfield is the strongest part of our team, frankly it doesn’t mean anything. We should be looking to upgrade on McT, Fred and Matic. They are very average. Not saying Hannibal will come in and immediately kick them out, but the least we could give him before loaning him out would be to let him show his ability in the first team during for pre-season. I would like to see both him and Garner feature heavily.

I too would like to see us sign a holding/defensive midfielder.

Anderlecht can't afford him after his valuation went up following his performances for Germany at the U21 tournament.

Chelsea seem adamant to strike while the iron is hot in the transfer market, much like when they signed Hazard on the back of their Champions League win.

Ziyech has been unbelievably average. I wasn't that fussed when they signed him, but I remember many meltdowns.
I thought he could be potentially a good signing, but I think a lot of people were enamoured with that Ajax side.

As far as I recall a few of the dutch guys on here were saying he wasn't all that when there was talk of him moving to the PL.
Yeah, probably. I think there were a lot of people going overboard about his ability and the Dutch posters tempering them.

I've read what the people involved in the club have said in the articles and not mindless speculation with no basis in reality. If a deal happens this summer, feel free to shame me publicly in a new thread but I'm 100% confident that isn't going to happen and what I said will ultimately be the truth. Same with Grealish (not moving to any club).

Dear sir, i would never :)

They havent got him yet....and probably won't get him...:wenger:

I don't know, last year there were many who said they won't get Havertz. But I am pretty sure he scored the goal in the final that won them beautiful Cup

Cry my eyes out

I’ll be like “ahwell” and that’ll be the end of it.

By the sound of this lengthy post you’ve made it’s not me who’s going to get emotional over A) a transfer which hasn’t actually happened yet. Neither of them. B) some other team buying a player we were linked to.

All this fawning over City/Chelsea and yet people don’t want us to be like them. You are supposed to be a Man Utd fan and yet at every opportunity we have posters such as yourself fawning over how well these Oil rich clubs may or may not do in the transfer window

For anyone who hasn’t been made aware yet.

City have not bought Kane/Grealish & Chelsea have not bought Haaland.

That’s settled. Calm the feck down.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings, that was not why I was writing that post. But I am Man Utd fan, been a long time, in fact so long that I remember times when Glazers didn't own us and put imaginary shackles onto us. ''no value in the market'' and other stuff started happening when Glazers bought us. I can honestly say that transfers is not the biggest part of me supporting my club. I have always watched our youth games, but in the last 4 years i have been watching more youth games than our senior squad.
But I will say this. Our club has history and traditions that is unmatched in the world of football. We have great history of bringing in and developing players that will lift people from the seats at OT. During 110 years our people have watched Best, Viollet, Edwards, Cantona, Meredith, Giggs, Spence, Ronaldo but i have not seen that Glazers are committed to bring those people to Theatre of Dreams. But i have seen that Abramovich and Mansour have that fire inside them that they want their team to succeed (whatever the reason they are doing it)
I don't want my team to have nafta magnate owner who puts 2 billions into their club just to make their team win silverware, but at the same time I don't want to see those leeches of owners who take 2 billions out just to keep my team from winning that silverware
Again, not talking about only transfers, but also about the state of Old Trafford and Carrington. Those 2 places are still there because of the last owners. Luckily for us we built Carrington right before those leeches arrived

Anyone got a pdf of his contract?

Because the media seem to have some conflicting numbers of said clause.

https://www.fussballtransfers.com/a8762112251129052584-bvb-haaland-klausel-doch-viel-hoeher

I can teach you something I think.
First of all. Do you know why all the largest newspapers found out there was a release clause in his contract? Who benefitted from that news? Not BVB i can tell you that much. Mino Raiola. What is the point? Mino Raiola will let people know that Erling Haaland is yours in 2022 for only 66,7 mil pounds and when you get a player who is worth 150 million for 66,7 million then you have to pay finders fee for Mino Raiola.
Next, who benefits from Bild getting information that the release clause is much larger? BVB. Because if that news gets out that Haaland clause is 110 million in 2022 then it isn't so much to ask from club to bid 150 mil the year before.
Or 110 in 2022.
Sports newspapers dont dig information on their own. They get news from people. You have to then translate what is wrong and what is right. And people who are ''leaking'' information ALL have their own agendas

That's some world class reasoning. Except that these people don't need the media to communicate with each other. If Chelsea do indeed have a strong interest in Haaland, they will have contacted Raiola directly, who will have told them what the conditions for his client are.

Theres a discernable difference between Havertz from last season and Haaland....try £100m and the fact that one is the most desirable player on the planet and the other was a decent propect in the budesliga....

I'll leave you to work out who is who....

I'm sure it has probably already been posted here, but I Saw this on Sky, and intially the first line on its own had me shocked for a sec, until I continued reading the sentence. I've posted as on Sky only with separations to exaggerate my point

"Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has agreed to become Burton boss

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s first summer signing, the Sky Bet League

One club have announced.

The 24-year-old former Manchester United trainee will officially sign

a two-year deal with the Brewers when his contract at Oldham

expires at the end of this month.

Full-back Borthwick-Jackson, who joined Latics from United on a

permanent deal last summer following a successful loan spell, played

under Burton’s assistant manager Dino Maamria at Boundary Park."

Lmfaooooooo

I thought this kid was supposed to be special? Another hype job was it.
Loan move not permanent. He’s too good for the U23s and I doubt he’ll get that many starts for the 1st team so a loan could really benefit him.

It has brought Garner on

McTominay was still the best player on the pitch in the EL final. I think people are underestimating how hard he is to replace.
