Anyway point still stands I thought Hannibal was for breaking into the first team next season, how good is he, will he make it here?

I mentioned in another thread a couple of months ago that Chelsea were the only club showing interest in Haaland, I think they are putting a lot of work into getting the transfer done and wouldn’t be surprised if Roman does it for Tuchel after him winning the CL for him and having no signings of his own.

I wish people wouldn’t post click bait fecking articles.
You seemed alright condemning him off the heading though

Never mind lad, I agree with the click bait shit.

If you think City/Chelsea are not far more efficient and less of "ditherers" in the transfer market compared to us, I dont know what to say.
Its only because youre so wrapped up on every Utd update thst tine moves slooowly. City literally ran out of time when trying to sign Sanchez and Mahrez..

eem, did you read all those articles yourself? Basically if Chelsea are willing to pay 150 mil pounds they will get Haaland. He has 66 mil pound clause in his contract for next summer. BVB said that if anybody comes with 150 mil pounds they will sell him. And that is what everybody was saying yesterday that Chelsea know how much he costs this summer and they will do everything to get their marquee signing after winning champions league.
This is what good teams/well run teams do, they go and get their man
I've read what the people involved in the club have said in the articles and not mindless speculation with no basis in reality. If a deal happens this summer, feel free to shame me publicly in a new thread but I'm 100% confident that isn't going to happen and what I said will ultimately be the truth. Same with Grealish (not moving to any club).

Didnt he flourish next to a physical no9 in RB Leipzig?

Schick and especially Poulsen did the dirty work for him, so he could drop deep or out wide and try to run at the defence or into space. Haaland is nothing like them.

They havent got him yet....and probably won't get him...:wenger:

Could someone explain to me how they believe United could do quicker and cheaper deals like they think other clubs do?
There is a reason United's name is constantly being used by clubs and agent's in relation to transfers.
We all know when United enquiry for a player the fee is outrageously increased. Should we just pay these fees just to show we can get deals done quickly?
I am not saying we have bought wisely but I do believe we have the most difficult situation when we start to negotiate for a player

I wouldn't put too much stock in this article as they say Hannibal is 20 years old. He's 18 ffs.
That was my first reaction too. It's already common enough for people to X player is 30 when he's 29 or whatever, we don't need to be doing this by 2 years now and certainly not for teenagers.

I think there is also lot of confusion about Haaland's release clause as well , I may be bit off about this but I believe I read somewhere that his exit Clause is over €100 m active in 2022 , if that's the case I don't think Haaland moves this summer because I just can't see anybody offering enough money to make Dortmund reconsider their stance .

Cry my eyes out

I’ll be like “ahwell” and that’ll be the end of it.

By the sound of this lengthy post you’ve made it’s not me who’s going to get emotional over A) a transfer which hasn’t actually happened yet. Neither of them. B) some other team buying a player we were linked to.

All this fawning over City/Chelsea and yet people don’t want us to be like them. You are supposed to be a Man Utd fan and yet at every opportunity we have posters such as yourself fawning over how well these Oil rich clubs may or may not do in the transfer window

For anyone who hasn’t been made aware yet.

City have not bought Kane/Grealish & Chelsea have not bought Haaland.

That’s settled. Calm the feck down.

In the last 12 years Chelsea has not been ''bottomless'' In fact Chelsea became very well run after Marina Granovskaia was brought in as Abramovich rep in 2010. They have managed their wage structure amazingly and transfers are always very efficient. Whether they sell or buy they always get the deal done and seems like always at the price they want or are willing to sell/buy. But you are wrong in your next part also.
First of all FFP was done after amazing Glazer lobbying. FFP was never about saving clubs, it was created so leeches like Glazers won't ever have to spend more than 100 mil per year on transfers of our clubs money. Our club has spent 2 billion pounds to finance Glazer ownership. Our turnover has been 6 billion in that time. Now what is more likely 1) we would never have been able to compete with City and Chelsea or 2) 2 billion would have given us a good chance at doing that?

Hellhunter i won't even ask you to go back 10 years. Just go back a couple of years and see how efficient they have been. Last year they bought Sarr, Silva, Mendy, Ziyech, Chilwell, Werner with pretty much 0 minutes wasted and then they went and added Kai Havertz. They bought Chilwell from Leicester City, with whom we haggled for 3 years for Maguire and still got rinced. All the while when we added ________ to our starting lineup last year. Now you will say that we added Cavani. Yeah, a panic buy in the last day of the transfer market and who was never supposed to be starting 9 for our team. I like him, but he wouldn't get into the first 21 in Chelsea, City, Liverpool or Tottenham.
Our club has turned into a mockery when dealing with transfers.

My mind boggles that after all we still have guys like you who refuse to see the facts. When was the last time our club got anybody that our manager really wanted? Lets see you cry your eyes out when Chelsea buy Haaland, City buy Grealish/Kane and Solskjaer has to come out to first game of the season and say that Cavani was like a new signing for us.

if only there was a magical site where u can find answers

Despite the conflicting rumors, Borussia Dortmund have privately let it be known that Erling Haaland's release clause will only be valid starting June 2022, at a price point of €75 million (roughly $91 million). Whichever club chooses to make a bid for the 20-year-old Norwegian this summer will have to open negotiations with Borussia Dortmund as well as with the star striker and his agent Mino Raiola.

Errr, the tweets are not showing up for me. Anyone else the same?

I think it might be a sign of the quality of the tweets :P

Anyone got a pdf of his contract?

Because the media seem to have some conflicting numbers of said clause.

According to German outlet Bild via Fussball Transfers, the forward's release clause is significantly higher than previously thought, with the figure reported to be over €100 million [£86 million].

However, Dortmund have categorically ruled out a move for their star man in the summer but that could very well change should they fail to secure a top-four finish in the Bundesliga this season.

The report provides a stark contrast to Fabrizio Romano's suggestion that Haaland's release clause, which will become active at the end of the 2021/22 campaign, is worth €75 million [£65 million].

The truly fun part is that the €75m figure everyone is copying came from Bild as well.

Is there any talk about a new contract being signed raising the clause? If Haaland isn’t leaving this year anyway then an extra 100k a week to him for the year and a further 20m to the clause might suit everyone.

Not that I know of, but Dortmund would probably do such a deal quietly, like they did with Sancho.

The internet is down.

fastly are having an issue and it’s brought down a bunch of major websites.

Yeah but I’d prefer a PL team because I think he can make an impact at this level.

Wouldn't rule out the Championship though if he’s guaranteed minutes.

We should ask Norwich if they fancy him for a year to replace Buendia.

The situation is different, with Sancho they set price for 120 and we didnt matched It so he stayed, this year the price is 20-30 mln less, they could afford to keep him for sporting reason.

Haaland has clause around 65 mln next year so if Chelsea come up with 100 mln more right now they would no hesitate to sell.

Chelsea do not have COVID issues with their money. 160-170 mln is Mbappe money few years ago when he was just a big talent, Haaland right now is top 3 stiker in the world with more then decade in front of him to play. The clause next year make It affordable for lots of clubs bigger than Chelsea so i am sure if we wait that year Chelsea are not in the run, so from their point of view It looks like now or never. Pay his normal value and get him because no one gonna matched It this summer or be out of the race next year.

he didnt have that clause playing that kind of money would be sth normal and expected, its just other clubs are waiting in line with the ticket and hope its gonna be a winning one next year.

So for BVB selling right now for 100 mln more is Easy decision, for Chelsea paying that kind of money if its not a problem is Easy decision because its the only way they have any chance of getting him,

but i think there is no way he would want to come to Chelsea, first of all going somewhere else would bring him much more fanbase and his status as a superstar would get bigger. Hazard never was considered as big as other players even if his ability would allowed him to be. Another thing is waiting another year would get him and Riola much of that 100 mln difference in higher contract and bonuses. Unless Chelsea would Pay 170 mln for him and then give him like 400 wages, but still they do not belong to that elite clubs that are resereved for the very best.

Werner must be delighted reading all this haaland news
He probably is, tbf. Werner was at his best at Leipzig with a bigger striker playing beside him. He’s like a pseudo-striker for them as well (eurgh, I know) — his main role is to run the channels, be offside a lot, and miss. But when he gets it right it’s a goal/assist/decent chance created.

The average players do not play in his position, in fact it's probably the strongest part of the squad.

I'm acting on the assumption that we'll have to augment how our midfield works. If we buy a defensive midfielder, we can change our approach. I don't know, I think our midfield is such an obvious obstacle to becoming a good side..
