Bingo. Despite the carefully worded press statement about his departure being a mutual decision it has been obvious for a while that he was sacked and the club just didn't want to own up to it.

I hadn't heard that but if he ends up somewhere like Crystal Palace, it's fairly obvious he was fired. Nothing else makes any sense.

By well run, do you mean financed by oil and able to things no other club (excluding PSG) could ever do? That's not well run, where's the PL's FFP?

I guess you will not get to many replies on this one. How dare you speak so much sense?

That beard he's sporting says a whole more more than any press release ever could. Let's see how he looks come August.

Bruno never wants to take a day off. Thats part of the reason Van de Beek has become a bit of a meme

That's true but I think that's on the manager as well. If Ole trusted VdB to do the job against the lesser sides he'd have rested Bruno and used him as an impact sub when needed.

As it stands, even if you believe VdB is a good player, it's not a like for like swap between him and Bruno. Ziyech would just be a straight swap.

Mendy - 22m
Ziyech - 35m

Missed a few out - it’s about 650m spent in 4 years. Finished 5th, 3rd, 4th and 4th. Spent another 30m on paying off managers too I’d imagine. Incredibly well run - totally punching above their weight. A model for all clubs on how to build sustainable success.

They have done great business when it comes to selling players which is reflected in the net spend.

5 points we gave up against Palace last season. And now they'll be playing snooze ball.

The main south London bus depot will have fewer parked oversize vehicles than Palace next season.

I'm happy about a Palace rebuild. It's been boring seeing the same old 11 from them over the past 3-4 years. Good on Nuno if he gets the gig and I'm not even particular a fan of his football.

Over 10 times this past season and he hasn't impressed at all, add the fact that Argies never work out at United.

I know a lot of fans hate him because of the links to Liverpool, but to be fair until he got injured and Evra took his place....Heinze was quality, especially his debut season.

i have seen Atalanta a handful of times and to be honest didnt massively notice him as hadnt heard of him. I liked what I did see. My concern from what I do remember, isnt so much that he is Argentinian....more he reminded me to a degree of an Argentinain we did have.....Rojo. And I mean that purely in terms of aggression. Is good to have aggresive defenders, but I do remember a few times he seemed to fly in to tackles with a Rojo like "I am getting the ball and if nt, the man" type attitude. WOuld worry about him getting a lot of bookings and possiboly red cards.

I trust Romano and his comments though. I thought £30-35m well worth the price, if they are wanting £50m for a player they have just paid £16m for though, may as well look elsewhere, he is really unproven outside of a stellar season, even though he looks a promising and imposing defender, it does look to me like outside influences tryin gto drive up a bidding war for him

Palace fans probably were thankful to Hodgson but were kind of looking forward to a new manager with a more expansive and entertaining style. Oh well.

Nuno is the standout candidate with a promotion and two 7th place finishes in the PL on his CV and I’ll be happy if he comes in...seems a top man as well. If there is such a thing as the “Palace way” then it’s being difficult to beat and well organised but direct and dangerous on the break and we certainly weren’t that last season, hopefully Nuno gets us back there. I personally enjoyed the football under both Pulis and Big Sam so my bar is pretty low!

Source: Noticias de Alava

I typically don't post Tweets like this, but this gives us a decent idea of Alavés's desire for Pellistri to continue with them.
  • Everything depends on United's willingness to loan Pellistri. If he does, then multiple clubs will be interested.
  • Alavés will look to bid strongly in order to secure him on loan.
    • They didn't necessarily pay the full amount that United wanted from them for the last 6 months.
  • Other clubs interested
    • Various British clubs
    • Club Brugge (who tried to get him in January)
  • Alavés expect their competitors to pay the full price in order to secure Pellistri on loan.
  • Alavés have seemingly secured an agreement with Pellistri himself to bring him back on loan.
Basically, we're going to make a decent amount of money on Pellistri, and the player himself will have a chance at being valued by whichever club gets him.

It is quite crazy how desperate we are for SAncho really. We have one of our most talented youth players in years breaking through at right wing and we have spent £60m odd on a championship player and two teenagers in the last three years.

Were last summer deals desperation or were we expecting more from these players in a debut season in a new culture? If its neither and the plan was to go back in for Sancho, why on earth were we spending so much on two teenagers?

Time will tell if either were good deals and I like us signing talented youngsters, but you have to consider a SAncho deal....where an earth does Pellestri fit in long term?

Pellestri is not even close to being a reason to not sign Sancho. He was a cheap punt who is very much a "eh lets see what happens". He'll go out on loan again next season, who knows if he'll ever even play for the first team.

I think many are being a tad harsh on Nuno here.

He coached a team and brought them into the league and did some serious damage, lost key players and now its claimed he plays ‘snooze ball’ football. Tad harsh me thinks.

  • Atlético de Madrid are willing to sell both Saúl and José Giménez
    • They hope to get up to 150 million Euros from their sales
  • They are interested in Lautaro Martinez (though he has a very high 111-million-Euro release clause)
  • Backup to Lautaro: Dusan Vlahovic
  • Atletico will also evaluate their defence to determine if they need to strengthen it.

Lazio are also looking at 24-year-old winger Riccardo Orsolini of Bologna.

EDIT:
  • Milan will exercise Tonali's purchase option
  • Milan will pay 10 million Euros + 5 million in bonuses + give away 20-year-old midfielder Giacomo Olzer

  • Both PSG and Chelsea submitted offers near 60 million Euros.
  • Chelsea are open to offering both Emerson Palmieri and Andreas Christensen.
  • 1-year extension offered to CB Andrea Ranocchia
  • Inter are currently in talks with Kolarov.
  • Inter can bring Zinho Vanheudsen back from Standard Liege after selling him a couple of years ago.
  • Expected Inter exit for Joao Mario
    • Sporting CP offered a low sum, which was dismissed.
    • Villarreal and Nice are also expected to get involved.
EDIT: More info

Balotelli could be on his way to Turkey.

A 3-year contract was offered to the player.
