Summary:

  • £2.5B will be used to purchase the club.
  • £1.75B will be invested into the club, including (but not limited to):
    • Stamford Bridge
    • Academy
    • Women's team
    • Kingsmeadow (Chelsea Women's & U23's stadium)
    • Chelsea Foundation

Does this mean Jim Ratcliffe is available as a potential buyer?

Would pogba even be a regular for city? I really don't see him as a better option than what they have, at best he would be fernandinho replacement but that would mean city would be hugely defensively frail with him as the defensive midfielder.

also haaland and pogba at the same club... that is two very big egos to manage which goes against what city have built their success on in terms of player recruitment.
Also they need mobile players. Pogba is not mobile

Gundogan hasn’t been offered a new contract yet and I think he’s heading into his last year. So maybe Pogba would replace him

More on Rangnick's recent quotes:

On trying to bring in a new striker:

On why he didn't push for a new striker:

I agree that our squad was bloated at the time, so adding more wasn't maybe looking as the brightest idea. Those 3 mentioned probably held discussions with their current clubs well before, so getting them would have had to be a costly gazump, apart from, maybe, Alvarez, who would be coming from SA league straight to Prem, so low chance he'd been the difference between getting top 4 and not.
Hindsight's a bitch, but I don't think a striker in january would've helped, when our defense was absolute shambles.

I def do not want to see Pogba at City. All the people saying he won't work etc, have you guys seen him play for France? He's been a massive disappointment for us no doubt and a lot if not most of it is his own fault due to having a weak mentality but under Pep he could potentially absolutely smash it. Hope he goes to PSG.

Not bothered if he goes there at all I want us to build a team of committed and talented players not social media stars.

He told Dan Roan on the BBC a few days back that he'd be willing to submit an offer but can't as the club isn't for sale.
That's the dumbest take.

My car is not for sale. If you offer me £X, I'll consider selling it.

X football player isn't for sale. Call the club and offer £150m. Suddenly, he's for sale.

Then in that case, Ratcliffe really isn't that interested in buying Manchester United.

There's the dumbest take.

X player is worth £100m but he's not for sale. Call the club and offer 35% more so you can buy said player.

The players value is solely created by the club they are contracted too. There is no market per se.

Disco. Just another billionaire who is a plastic fan. Was famous for saying buying football clubs is a waste of money yet offers up for Chelsea.
Now let's look at this through a different lens via Chelsea: no one was being reported to buy Chelsea until Abramovich had to put it up for sale. Suddenly, you got 4 different consortiums putting bids together, 3 different entities declaring their intention without putting up a big, and then Ratcliffe coming in late with a large bid. Where were all of those interested parties before? Were they really not interested in buying Chelsea until Abramovich put it up for sale?

Same with Newcastle United: were the Saudis really not interested in buying them all the way until Ashley put them up for sale? Unless a club's ownership can be acquired via shares, we won't see people putting together bids to purchase a club unless the owner puts it up for sale. In United's case, only a minority of the shares have been sold; the Glazers still hold a majority of them and aren't willing to put them up for sale at this time. No matter what kind of offer Ratcliffe can put up, if the Glazers don't want to sell their shares, then he can't buy them.

Every business has a price and we are a self sustaining commercial juggernaut. Combined with our value, income, brand and the TV money increasing, you could overpay and give them £6bn. They are not turning that down.

Then why did it take so long for billionaires and consortiums to put a price on Chelsea? Why did it take so long for the Saudis to put a price on Newcastle United? How can anyone put a price on United if the majority of the shares aren't available to buy in the stock market?

United are listed so have a market cap. We know the club's valuation. You can then make a decent attempt to understand a selling price.

That can't be true. Who requests to end a loan with one game of the season left to go and surely him and his agent looked over contracts and whatnot when the transfer happened.
It's not supposed to be news. It's a pun attempt.

That Tweet doesn't belong in this thread.

Okay, so we are not in for Tchouameni, though I very much doubt he would want to come here of all places. Rice is firmly out of reach. Philips has categorically denied coming here, because he hates us. And even if he didn't he is hardly what I'd call and exciting signing. So what exactly does this club intend to do about the midfield then?

You will have to wait to find out I’m afraid.

It's a bit redundant at this point, but anyway:

Him saying that means negotiations are completed.

He also said that Raiola's health problems delayed the Haaland proceedings, but he expects to have clarity next week, which also fits with the other message, because Haaland's fee will probably pay for Adeyemi's transfer.

And in the same show Mintzlaff reiterated "I've told people five times now, that Nkunku will be playing for us next season"
