Why would we not have been in for Zakaria or Guimareas at these prices?
Because he’s not any much of an upgrade? Ask yourself why other big clubs didn’t go for him but only Juventus.Zakaria available for €5m and we don't try...
You are probably right in terms of the plan. However the problem is that it increases the chance of us not qualifying for next seasons cl which will make signing new players hard and it means we would need to make a large number of signings in the summer when we have previously looked incapable of making more than 3 biggish signings.I doubt that we had the money for Bruno and perhaps just didn't rate Zakaria - he doesn't look like quite the same player post-injury.
United's focus appears to be on cutting the wage bill and slimming down the size of the squad, in preparation for a new manager in the summer.
You'd expect all of Van de Beek, Cavani, Lingard, Pogba, Jones, Henderson, Bailly, Ronaldo, Martial and Mata to leave the club in the next six months. The new manager then has a clean slate (at least as far as the midfield and attack is concerned - the defence will probably largely remain the same into next season).
Juventus have so many options in the middle of the park and still added him, surely that should speak volumes? We are an injury away from total disaster and we still choose to pass up on someone going for €5m euros? We could sell him on for a higher fee without him even kicking a ball for us. It’s a no brainer.Because he’s not any much of an upgrade? Ask yourself why other big clubs didn’t go for him but only Juventus.

Weird considering they've conceded 53 goals and should be desperately trying to sign him.
We seem to be the only team thst thinks it's squad is so awesome we don't need to strengthen.
Juventus love getting average players for free transfer or minimal fees. Most players they have got the last few years have all been bad.Juventus have so many options in the middle of the park and still added him, surely that should speak volumes? If reports are to be believed we are after a midfielder so fingers crossed we bring one in before the window closes.
So basically Bordeaux told Phil Jones, you will play if you are fit. Needless to say the negotiations broke down over lack of first-team football.
Players don't usually sign to teams that intend to sell them without letting them kick a ball. He would certainly have talked to Allegri before accepting a move so soon, especially given that he could have waited for the summer.Juventus have so many options in the middle of the park and still added him, surely that should speak volumes? This story makes less sense the more I think about it. Surely he knows he'd be the best defender there. Why was he even looking for assurances?
