This story makes less sense the more I think about it. Surely he knows he'd be the best defender there. Why was he even looking for assurances?

What was he thinking? Like, I m not going there because they won't play every time, so I ll stay in the place where they never pick me? It would only make sense if he had other loan options. But now..

PSG have pulled out so something is happening in my opinion.
Well Barca are totally desperate to get him out so anything we hear has to be taken with a pinch of salt. I can only see this happening if Lingard goes.

Have they??
They wanted a swap deal apparently. But who the hell knows. You had people denying and claiming we’d offered all in the space of a few minutes today. Dunno who to believe. Personally think it’s bull and just Barca trying to drum up offers. But now with Greenwood I can actually see it being put in place. Especially if Lingard goes. Who would I rather a mouthy Lingard or a broken Denbele? I’ll take Denbele. On loan.

But of course I’d much rather a midfielder.

If it's only on loan, no problem with us signing him... Especially with today's news.

If Sancho/Rashford get injured, our wide options are Elanga, Mata and Lingard (should he stay).

Dembele: A massive talent but he’s another with poor attitude/professionalism. Barcelona flops are to be avoided. I think you’d be better with a short squad than taking Dembele on. Work on getting Sancho doing the business instead.

Don't they need to ship him out to register Aubameyang's loan ? He should try to get back to it in France rather than trying the PL. Don't think his body will handle it.

I was reading a couple of days ago that Barca needed to lower their wages to get in a striker.. They are desperate to get Dembele out..

I have this down as Barca just trying to get a club to bid for him

Yep, just did a bit of Google - that Pedro twitter account is fake and a known spoofer. Should be on the blacklist.

Isn't this the Twitter account that constantly throws shit at the wall and nobody actually knows who the person behind the account actually is.
Correct. Both Pedro Almeida and Nicholó Schira tend to jump the gun a bit too much and come up with some very speculative Tweets. They're unreliable.

Someone was asking about Santi Aouna earlier. He's more reliable than those guys, but he also tends to jump the gun a bit and is, as a result, hit or miss. He is, however, more reliable when it comes to PSG than other teams.

feck sake Phil.

What is it with so many players in this current squad wanting guaranteed playing time. No one can guarantee you playing time but if you get a chance and work hard/play well then you get more playing time, continue that and you get all the playing time you want. That's how it's supposed to work.

Oh dear Phil.

Happy to sit on his arse cashing pay cheques rather than actually play football it seems.

Who's going to give a guarantee on playing time to a guy that's been injured for years?

I've wished the beat for him previously, but feck that, after all those years injured, the lads a grifter now.

If we manage to get Dembélé motivated and firing, it could turn out to be an amazing deal. At only 24, I’m surprised he’s been written off by so many after being considered a £100 million+ player a few seasons ago. At £16 million he would be worth a punt.

A lot still in denial that we absolutely need to make this signing. With one injury we have zero depth in the wide forward positions.

Yeah, Jones cannot complain about playing time or associated disrespect if he himself turned down the loan. Although I can kind of understand him given Maguire is a starter and our captain...

He'll Miss most of the season with injury. Another Phil Jones is the last thing we need
