Seems like Trippier is a genuine target.
The first tweet is embarrassing. Why did you pay that much money?

He's the right age and hopefully by the time he's done, Laird will be ready to takeover.Trippier coming in can only be good news. If AWB really has the hunger and desire to be our future starting RB we'll find out. Look what competition did for Shaw. You either thrive under the pressure, or wilt.
Trippier made sense when we were looking for a RB and Atletico bought him. Instead we spent £45m on a different player and now want Trippier again. Just about sums up the clubs transfer strategy.
I was asking the same question almost two years ago on this forum. The first tweet is embarrassing. Why did you pay that much money?
Because a swap is never really a "swap" in the exact sense. For instance if they do a "swap" for let's say Werner and Lukaku, then Chelsea will show it as paying Inter 80 million or whatever and Inter will show it as paying Chelsea the same amount. So we'd get whatever percentage we are due of that 80 million. This is very simplified and never exactly happens this way but it gives you the jist. How do they calculate the sell on clause of Lukaku if they make a swap with Chelsea.
This seems to be 12 months out of date. AWB has vastly improved his attacking side over that time.Indeed, below is what Mitten says about MUFC interest in Trippier
I wouldn't say that 4 assists in 51 games should mean he "vastly improved his attacking side". He's still shit going forwards however you look at him. This seems to be 12 months out of date. AWB has vastly improved his attacking side over that time.
I've noticed since the turn of the year he's been putting in more crosses, some very good crosses and the finish by the reciever was poor.I wouldn't say that 4 assists in 51 games should mean he "vastly improved his attacking side". He's still shit going forwards however you look at him.
He has improved his attacking side of the game a bit but he's referring to the way opposition press and how he is the clear weak link when playing out from the back. This seems to be 12 months out of date. AWB has vastly improved his attacking side over that time.
He has vastly improved the way he carries the ball forward and opponents just dont leave him space anymore. He has become really good at keeping the ball and moving it forward in tight spaces. With Greenwood only coming alive withing the last 6 weeks, he was our entire attack and defence down the right side on his own. He had 6 assists and 2 goals in all comps last season, thats a great fecking return and dont forget he was crossing to Martial for 3/4 of the season.I wouldn't say that 4 assists in 51 games should mean he "vastly improved his attacking side". He's already made a first team appearance. What has Laird ever done to deserve a shout in the first team? Every time i see his name being brought up at is just so bizarre. I can safely bet he won't make a first team appearance ever

life comes at you fast
Not quite as bizarre as writing a 19 year old kid off who has been exceptionally highly rated by the club for years and has shone on loan in his first experience of senior football. At least expecting him to compete for a spot next year can be put down to over excitement and a wish for him to do well - what’s your excuse for being such a negative nelly? What has Laird ever done to deserve a shout in the first team? Injury permitting I have no doubt Laird will feature in our first team. AWB only made his debut at Crystal palace when he was 20.Right, so do we think he will ever make a second first-team appearance?

100% yes. He's far too talented not to.
Not sure why you're so keen to write him off?
OK fine, do you think he'll make a third though? He's already made a second first-team appearance.
That’s in line with Gary Neville territory. Which is fine. There is no guarantee that better crosses equals more goals, look at Telles.I wouldn't say that 4 assists in 51 games should mean he "vastly improved his attacking side". He's still shit going forwards however you look at him.
I think you guys need to open your eyes a bit and also realise that fullbacks aren’t all the same. He’s not going to be Shaw on the ball but he’s no slouch. One of the last matches the cbs we’re doing their dicking around at the back routine until the opposition got too close then Bailly played what was practically a hospital ball to AWB. I thought you’re done for with that one but his skill for him out of a pack of 3 and he was able to play the ball off.He has improved his attacking side of the game a bit but he's referring to the way opposition press and how he is the clear weak link when playing out from the back.
I agree that he improved his attacking play, but his output is still average to be a top full back. Considering he has a weak partner on that side and he's a more defensive suited right back, I'd say he's okay, but still there are a lot of other things not to like about him and he'd need some competition to iron those out. That’s in line with Gary Neville territory. Very happy with AWB progress
Dortmund can only bring in additions from sales and are waiting on MUFC to move for Sancho.
Like the summer of 2014. Once one came in, it felt like we were signing a player every other day.Quite interesting….maybe it’ll be slow for us for a while and then boom, transfer after transfer after transfer
Absolutely, competition does the likes of Shaw no harm.I agree that he improved his attacking play, but his output is still average to be a top full back. For all the shit woody gets (including the justifiable ESL fiasco) he is an astute businessman and we’re going to miss these kind of deals which go on behind the scenes. What an incredible clause.
