How do they calculate the sell on clause of Lukaku if they make a swap with Chelsea.

They would probably have to do each as seperate transfers from a financial/accounting point of view but as the one deal similar to Barca/Juve for Artur and someone I cant remember.

Taking a thread off topic

While it's admirable that he's trying to get the best deal for his colleagues (more people should be like this) but what's even more impressive is Real Madrid's ability to be ruthless with their supposed legend while we grovel for an average manager and keep lowering our standards.

Hmmm. What are the odds on Bale staying?
100% I think eventhough Bale clearly fecked up, the problem with his was not Real Madrid but Zidane. Their relationship was clearly broken so keeping Bale makes sense in hopes that with Ancelotti things can change for him and considering Madrid's options on the wings are nothing spectacular with Hazard being a shadow of himself, Vinicius that can't even finish his dinner, Asensio that had a woeful season, etc also taking into account that Bale is unsellable and if loaned they would have to subsidise a big chunk of his wages I think the best option for Madrid is keeping him.

In no way is that story impressive. Its scumbag behaviour by the club.

Seems like Trippier is a genuine target.

Indeed, below is what Mitten says about MUFC interest in Trippier

He has a contract in Madrid until 2023, but the Old Trafford hierarchy would not be interested in signing Trippier — a lad from a family of United fans who has spent most of his life in the city — if they didn’t think they could get him. They believe he could be persuaded to come home.

The club is trying to cheat them just so they can sign a shiny new toy while their finances are in the shits. Good on Ramos for not buying their bullshit

Isn't it better for AWB and us if opponents leave space for him to attack? He just has to improve his game gradually and it's quite evident on the pitch that he is improving in terms of dribbling and crossing. It's also because we don't have an existing natural right winger which Sancho will adequately fix. I wouldn't say no to Trippier though

Trippier makes perfect sense.
Relatively low cost, can deliver absolutely brilliant crosses. Cavani will have a field day with his deliveries.
Good option to have as back up to AWB.

The issue isn't leaving space for AWB it's that obviously that means the opposition can double up on our left side and central attackers, safe in the knowledge that AWB is unlikely to hurt them.

Get an actual threat at RB and in theory more space opens up for all our forwards.

Trippier made sense when we were looking for a RB and Atletico bought him. Instead we spent £45m on a different player and now want Trippier again. Just about sums up the clubs transfer strategy.

Trippier makes even more sense now IMO.

Im 100% sure this is connected to all their players having weird release clauses!

Imagine how pissed off they must be when club demands a obscene amount without them even agreeing , just for accounting purposes.

Exactly. Madrids behaviour towards their own legends, when a new shiny toy is in their view, is apaling. Honestly good on Ramos for protecting his team mates. Makes me want him here even more.

Simply put, AWB can be absolute dog shit going forward and it doesn't matter as he has noone good enough to challenge him. Trippier has the potential to not only challenge, but take his spot in the first 11, which will demand more from both players

Only way this doesn't make sense is if the club believe Laird etc. Is good enough and bring him back/give him a proper opportunity to compete, which I don't see happening (even though I think he is good enough)

Trippier coming in can only be good news. If AWB really has the hunger and desire to be our future starting RB we'll find out. Look what competition did for Shaw. You either thrive under the pressure, or wilt.
