Have we sent the BDL caf reps over to Blue Cafe to advise them about how this is likely to pan out? If not, we really should.

If anyone can do it it's him.
Fair point well made.

Not surprised by the Griezmann wages. They even gave Trincao almost 150k per week as well. Clearly throwing money away.

Summary:
- Assumed Varane will leave and Madrid are making plans to sell now to avoid losing him for free, hoping for €60m
- A contract offer was made before the Euros which he's not responded to(€7m per year)
- Money isn't the issue for Varane but desire for a new challenge which he still wanted in 2019
- Man Utd expected to make a formal offer soon
- Varane expected back in training on 23rd Ancelotti wants to keep him
- Perez wants a swift resolution with the relationship between Utd and Madrid still good
- In the event Varane stays he'll be made captain

Palace making some decent signings so far cc @Shipperley

Have said all along while people have been banging on about the contract situation, it’s a massive opportunity for us to rebuild the team in a depressed transfer market and that’s exactly what we’re doing, there will be more of these signings as well. The good thing is Eze, Olise and Guehi have all signed 5 year deals so far which bodes well for the future.

Napoli still desperate to cash in.. the asking price keeps going down.. no one is interested.
They asked for too much a few years back and will end up getting nothing.

I was always a believer

I heard you're looking at getting Gallagher from Chelsea on loan, i still think you need another striker i dont trust Benteke.

Summary:
- Varane has decided to join Manchester United and his reps are in talk with Utd
- He's asked for a big payrise Madrid can't afford, wants a new challenge in the PL and Zidane's departure played a role in him wanting to leave
- United will formally offer €50m next week

Player wants out and they try to entice him to stay by making him captain? Pathetic.

De Laurentiis and Napoli need to google more premier league club names to drum up interest in KK.

Wanted more money.. didnt get it. Now wants a new challenge..
Was never about the money

Yeah Gallagher almost joined last summer but we pulled out to get Batshuayi in. Lots of names in the hat at the moment but all seem to be a similar profile…Gallagher, Lookman, Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson to name a few. All promising young players from the London area which I like.

Re strikers I wouldn’t mind one more but am looking forward to seeing what Mateta can do when given a chance to be honest, looks to me like he’s got a lot of promise. Any striker looked useless under Roy tbf, even good ones like Harry Kane.

That’s a solid strategy when you’re aiming for mid table. Get a group of the best London lads who aren’t being used enough at the bigger clubs and who are very keen to play and kick on. It shouldn’t break the bank. You could build a very solid core like that if you chose wisely. It would probably help you sign more of the real top London youth going forward too.

Loic Tanzi is as reliable as it gets. Summary:
- Varane has given Manchester United the green light to open talks with Real Madrid
- Discussions with Varane have accelerated and in a concrete phase
- United expected to send a formal offer in the coming days
- For the first time since his arrival in 2011 Varane is VERY LIKELY to leave Real Madrid

Definitely, we just opened a state of the art Cat 1 academy to support that process too. Can imagine the pitch to prospective academy kids‘ parents in the future will be very much about their kids having a much clearer pathway to the first team than at the big clubs and playing in a team with a local identity while they develop. Really it’s what any club our size should be doing when you think about it.

Maybe this guy will be the top tier for French Football when Bouhafsi leaves

Its really smart and could genuinely be a money spinner for you guys. The scouting obviously needs to be majorly on point but I have a feeling a few of those overlooked lads at Arsenal Spurs and Chelsea are technically excellent and potentially good pl players but they’ll never get enough minutes to see what the true level of their game is. Viera with a young team desperate to kick on might be just the ticket.

The Premier leagues answer to Dortmund.

Always had a soft spot for Palace, Pardew almost ruined it with his smug dance in the FA Cup final though.

I mentioned this to Shipperley I think before. At Arsenal alone there's Reiss Nelson, Nketiah, Joe Willock, Maitland-Niles who are a just about on the fringes of the first team, who will all be looking to move on, either on loan or permanently. Then below that they could keep their eye on Balogun, Taylor Hart, Azeez, Charlie Patino, Omar Hutchinson, all rated highly but most won't make it at Arsenal.

Then we all know how good Chelsea's youth are.

Theres a great opportunity for Palace here, & a bit of a gap in the market in terms of a pathway for youth to a London Premier League team.
