That is how negotiations work. If you are the buyer, you are broke and you need to sacrifice a lot to purchase. If you are the seller, you don't need money and don't have to sell.
This. Woodward really fecked up before by bragging about the club's wealth in public and it looks like he's realised that. We need to break free of the United tax that selling clubs impose on us.

Article specifically mentions he has ONE year left on his contract not two as has been stated in the media

it’s weird that a club the size of United can’t work on two deals simultaneously…but if true then I at least hope we’re in for a DM. Especially if we’re intending on keeping Pogba.
We've been working on Trippier, Sancho, Varane and Camavinga at various points together this summer.

We signed Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin on the same day.

According to reports it's 60k, but still 40K is a lot for a player of his calibre. At least at this point, when we are not even sure he'll make it at top level.
I highly doubt we'd give him a raise from like 10k to 60k after 1 season. It's most likely 40k up to 60k if he's starting regularly and he hasn't been since he signed.

I know Saul has been out of favour this season, but what does this swap deal mean for Joao Felix? Surely Suarez - Grizou becomes the first choice strike pairing?

I don't think he's even a guaranteed starter for them
IIRC he started the season on fire but then got covid/injuries and didn’t make the same impact in the team

We can't trust Dalot or Williams. We have three senior fulbacks at the club - selling one of them would be a poor decision. If anything, we should be looking to get in a fourth.
I think we can trust both of them to come in and do a decent enough job. Will they equal Luke immediately on their first outing? No, of course not. But thats why they are squad options. If they were brilliant then they would be starting somewhere.

If he plays regularly at Saints, surely we'd want them to pick up the 60k weekly wage bill? Not really sure how bonuses work when out on loan.

The quoted Tweet: "We want news on Pogba."

Loïc's reply:
You already know a lot with what's going on but it's a real possibility if Paris ever sells. The player is thrilled by the idea of coming to the PSG but will never attempt to clash with Manchester United.

So Pogba's interested in joining PSG but won't force United to sell him if they want to keep him. This reads like Raiola being the main player in the contract renewal talks. If we can't satisfy Raiola, then there's no way for us to keep Pogba. United's best hope is to get that confirmed this summer and not try to take this to the last second like Milan did with Donnarumma. This might explain our increased interest in Camavinga this summer, too.

I'd rather we let him go for free next year than give that cnut any more money for getting Pogba to renew this year. Contrary to popular belief on this forum, Pogba is not all that. We managed many matches without him being fit, at his best, or otherwise. United will move on and I wager to say we will improve by not needing to shoehorn him into a position where we have better options, just to get him on the pitch. If he wants PSG, make it happen this window, Riaola.

Rather think this means Pogba wont agitate for a move if United wont get their preferred price for him. Which isnt strange as he can go there next season on a free...

If Roma want Telles they should pay up. I’m sure Mourinho will exert some pressure if that’s what he wants.

Somewhat amused & concerned at the same time that of all the players at UTD, the one he wants to sign is a player he didn't sign when he was the UTD manager.

That's like saying, "I'm not interested in the crap players I signed whilst at UTD" leaving us lumbered with them, his crap signings that didn't improve the team.

Renan Lodi and Mario Hermoso will not be included in the Griezmann deal.

EDIT: English Tweet

Raiola clients:

  • Dumfries has interest from Everton and Internazionale (Voetbal International)
  • Malen has agreed terms with Dortmund, but clubs still negotiating (BILD)
  • Wijndal could be worked into a side deal in typical Raiola fashion.
  • Gravenberch likely to stay at Ajax.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Non-Raiola, Eredivisie:
  • Vitesse have declined 4 million from Marseille for Bazoer's 1 year contract. M. Verweij
  • Timber likely to stay at Ajax.
  • Nothing reliable about Koopmeiners & Tannane destination.

I realise it was edited, but I appreciate the way you wrote this Transfer Tweet post. Well done!
To accompany this, the official announcement video:

Signing of the summer. One of the best goalkeepers at the age of the 22y with a free transfer.
Good signing, but zero transfer fee doesn't mean it was a cheap deal. He's reported to be earning 12m net per year. There's probably a hefty signing on bonus, plus Raiola's sky-high fees!

The same was being reported about Cavani when he left PSG, and clubs were looking to sign him.

True but in a normal situation his price tag would be near 100M. Likely the most expensive GK in the world. Still a good deal for PSG.
