The final catalyst to push the Varane deal through Just like the Coman to United links a few days before BVB accepted our bid
Why do people always assume players will get the same money or more if they move? He's probably been told if he stays he'll have to take a wage cut or be sold, Madrid love him and he spent a long time there, he's not going to bankrupt them. Its still a very good wage at his age.
Probably guaranteed playing time too.
Loic Tanzi is as reliable as it gets. Summary:
- Varane has given Manchester United the green light to open talks with Real Madrid
- Discussions with Varane have accelerated and in a concrete phase
- United expected to send a formal offer in the coming days
- For the first time since his arrival in 2011 Varane is VERY LIKELY to leave Real Madrid
While I can't comment on Ajer specifically, Southampton paid 13 million pounds for Van Dijk from Celtic and that didn't work out too badly at all. So there is a precedent for that. That seems a bit excessive for a Celtic defender, no? They've not been the best and I don't think Ajer is that good either, is he? Plus his contract expires next year.
Be interesting to see how he does down south. For his size I actually don't rate him that much as an actual defender, his best characteristics are deceptive to what you would think by appearance, he's decent on the ball & is deceptively quick. Celtic fans might have a different view mind you.
Where is the deadline date BVB loves to impose? Or was that just a United thing?
Although, I guess when you have a club that is willing to offer double what you will make next year, you make exceptions.
Thankfully, too. That ship sailed a couple of years ago.
Somewhere in the multiverse where there's no pandemic maybe. Good luck getting 50m for a clearly not wanted backup striker in this dimension.I really thought the market for Abraham was Villa, West Ham etc, but if that's the level of clubs that interested in him, then we should be able to ask for around £50m.
At what point does it become economically foolish for Dortmund to keep Haaland?
If they cashed in this summer you’d have thought they could get probably get close to double the release clause for him that they’ll be forced to abide by next summer.
Is Haaland really worth the €60/70/80 million to keep for one more season considering how depreciated the current market seems to be and how far away they seem from an actual trophy?
I really thought the market for Abraham was Villa, West Ham etc, but if that's the level of clubs that interested in him, then we should be able to ask for around £50m.
Hey, i loved that dance! Best FA cup moment in years! The Premier leagues answer to Dortmund.
Always had a soft spot for Palace, Pardew almost ruined it with his smug dance in the FA Cup final though.
- you mean Dortmund, a club that I don't think has ever paid over £35m for a player, a skint Inter and Spurs? Yeah, massive bidding war incoming.I really thought the market for Abraham was Villa, West Ham etc, but if that's the level of clubs that interested in him, then we should be able to ask for around £50m.
You love to see Dortmund playing hardball with clubs when it’s not your own that’s involved.
I think if he's being touted to those clubs then the point is they aren't the level of clubs interested in him. Chelsea are trying to sell him to those teams and they don't want him.
Arsenal, West Ham and villa are about right for 25/30 mill I reckon.
Yeah Gallagher almost joined last summer but we pulled out to get Batshuayi in. Lots of names in the hat at the moment but all seem to be a similar profile…Gallagher, Lookman, Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson to name a few. All promising young players from the London area which I like.
Re strikers I wouldn’t mind one more but am looking forward to seeing what Mateta can do when given a chance to be honest, looks to me like he’s got a lot of promise. Any striker looked useless under Roy tbf, even good ones like Harry Kane.
I took touted to those clubs to mean being linked with those clubs. If it means what you're saying, then I take back what I said.
