$10mil and I fecked it up!
As long as it's for profit and we can trust Dalot/Williams or sign another good cover LB it makes sense.
Telles knows he's never displacing Luke Shaw, no matter how good or bad he performs himself.

Clearly wants first team football and with Shawberto Carlos in his way he'd be better of leaving tbf.
If they are only looking to loan until Spinazzola recovers, then maybe we should counter-offer with Williams. Or even Dalot. No need to let a first-line backup go for cheap to the Italians. A bit of a win-win since we're trying to sell/loan those guys. It's not like Italian teams to actually spend money, so a Telles loan would be cost prohibitive (unless Williams is actually making more). We don't have a backup, an injury to Shaw and we're in trouble. We can't afford to let him leave, besides Roma only want him on loan until Spinazzola recovers.
I honestly feel this guy has paid journals to actually twist the narrative to emotionally blackmail Messi into staying.
That's an inaccurate sum up of the player.
He might not be the best defender or the fastest full back, but he's a good footballer, technically astute.
In his last three seasons with Porto he has double digits for goal involvements (G+A). And the season prior he has 9.
That's a pretty good return. The Portuguese league while not the in the top 5 leagues, is probably in the top 6 leagues. And he was playing regularly. On top of that as soon as he came Shaw got in the form of his life. I doubt we can find a player that brings as much as Telles for the same money we brought him in.
The only way Telles leaving this summer is if he demands game time that can't be guaranteed and that's his only priority. With the world cup around the corner I can imagine he wants to fight for a spot in the Brazilian team.
Makes zero sense. It's only 5 minutes ago that we were all clapping ourselves on the back at how we'd transformed Shaw into a world class full back by finally providing serious competition. Now we're OK with regressing to Brandon as his only back up??As long as it's for profit and we can trust Dalot/Williams or sign another good cover LB it makes sense.

40 k which is fairly standard for our club to be fair. He’s clearly not a major priority for Southampton as they’ve already brought in a new LB.Who would have thought giving a 60k per week contract to a player who is not a consolidated first team member would come to bite us?
Couldn't been known, bad luck.
Offers coming from the Premier League for the jewels of #Inter. Liverpool and Man Utd can reach up to 70 for Nicolò Barella.
And #Tottenham is on the attack for Milan Skriniar: offer already on the Nerazzurri's table

If we think the only reason Shaw has performed is because we signed Telles, we really must think very little of him.Makes zero sense. If we could get Trippier for a reasonable fee, we could sell Telles. But we'd also have to keep one of Williams or Dalot. Why would we even sell Telles? Only backup for Shaw. Bs

it’s weird that a club the size of United can’t work on two deals simultaneously…but if true then I at least hope we’re in for a DM. Especially if we’re intending on keeping Pogba.
Don't be silly. The point being obviously that a squad with depth and competition brings out the best in people. If we think the only reason Shaw has performed is because we signed Telles, we really must think very little of him.

I think average is harsh, he came with a big reputation on deadline day having had no pre-season with the team and he's got the current BITW ahead of him but I think theres a decent player in there. I certainly wouldn't want to see us let him leave.
Griezmann-Saul swap deal is imminent. The Frenchman will return to Atletico and Saul will join Barcelona.
According to reports it's 60k, but still 40K is a lot for a player of his calibre. At least at this point, when we are not even sure he'll make it at top level.40 k which is fairly standard for our club to be fair. He’s clearly not a major priority for Southampton as they’ve already brought in a new LB.

Barcelona will have got Aguero, Alaba, Memphis and Saul this summer without spending a penny in transfer fees
