Knowing our luck, Shaw gets injured/loses form, the moment Telles leaves.
If they are only looking to loan until Spinazzola recovers, then maybe we should counter-offer with Williams. Or even Dalot. No need to let a first-line backup go for cheap to the Italians. A bit of a win-win since we're trying to sell/loan those guys. It's not like Italian teams to actually spend money, so a Telles loan would be cost prohibitive (unless Williams is actually making more).
I mean it's a bit hard to feel for Messi when he's on a 1.5M p/w contract. Even if he takes a pay cut and plays for 500k p/w he'd be totally fine. Add to that all the sponsorship money he rakes in, he'll probably pull in 50M+ a year.
To compare, Ronaldo's on ~400k p/w at Juve.

If we could get Trippier for a reasonable fee, we could sell Telles. But we'd also have to keep one of Williams or Dalot.

Telles has been slightly disappointing but he's still an acceptable backup for Shaw, why would we sell him? We don't want to end up with Brandon Williams there again if Shaw gets injured.

We can't trust Dalot or Williams. We have three senior fulbacks at the club - selling one of them would be a poor decision. If anything, we should be looking to get in a fourth.
Anything over £20m for Trippier would be robbery given his age and the fact he'd only be a squad player. Tell Atletico to do one and just keep Telles and promote Laird.
