Varane will be on about 3 times the wages

And probably the thrice the player too but we shall see. There were United fans in the Sancho thread whom genuinely believe that we will end up signing Ben White and a random CM because the Sancho deal has been holding up

Maguire's on 200k p/w while Varane's currently on something like 160k p/w. I wonder if we'll really risk annoying Maguire by giving Varane a huge salary bump (250k+ p/w?)

Throw good money at him (which Arsenal clearly have) and he'll play for them. Ben White is promising CB, but when you can spend that kind of money, you can go more ambitious route for a CB with European experience.

United did similar thing in LVG and Jose era.
Doubt that. Not when Madrid and United are the other clubs attempting to sign him

Nordsjælland head coach Flemming Pedersen on Sulemana's current situation:

Apparently, Sulemana is making his choice between Manchester United and Ajax.

I was only thinking about this guy yesterday. It’s always good to be linked with the best prospects in Scandinavia. It seems our interest is very real. Fairly sure our scout Moller Nielsen is quoted a while back complimenting him.

If I was him I’d do a year or two at Ajax and reevaluate. Depends if he has the love for utd/confidence to come in here. There’s a good chance we just loan him out anyway? I’m also starting to get the feeling that martial really is on the market this summer.

Arsenal can't have much of a budget after missing out on CL yet again, and having the pandemic hit etc. So to spend so much on Ben White (50m!!!!), seems really odd to me. That said, White is a quality player, I just don't know he's a 50M pound player. As someone else said, English tax gone crazy.

What are you even on about? AC Milan literally just paid half of that for one of the best defenders in Serie A last season who's a black brit...

The fee is objectively crazy regardless
The Tomori fee was agreed as a option to buy in the loan deal, so not affected at all by how he played the last year. It was set, i assume, based on his performance in 19/20, and how Chelsea expected him to develop whilst on loan.

Maggys on 190k

What’s happening with these London clubs scaring off every manager they are closing to signing

Nope, he's just not ready to come back, yet.

This is a big blow for Spurs if they were considering going after him.

Yeah, according to that piece seems to have taken a bit of a hit with the sack at Dortmund and needs more time to recuperate. Shame for Palace.

Juventus want 40 million Euros for Demiral. They want cash only (no players).

When Maguire has won half the stuff Varane has then he can complain. Guy was playing for Leicester not long ago.

There a lot of "rumours", that we could spend easily 200m this season, because we need a huge rebuild. There is a chance, Kroenke will support it this summer.

A Right CB would be the last position on my priority list, because we have Saliba, Holding and Chambers for the spot and our defensive was quite stable last season. we need a competitor for Leno, a Back-Up for Tierney, a Right Back Starter, two midfielders and an offensive midfielder (Ödegaard and Ceballos loan ended, Xhaka will probably leave) - surprisingly the first signing will be a RCB.

And a lot of players should/could leave: Ryan, Ceballos and Ödegaard's loan ended. Luiz left. Bellerin is for sale, Xhaka close to Roma, Willock could leave after his good loan, Nelson could be for a loan, Willian could leave again, Lacazette and Nketiah for sale. So many positions have to be filled.

I highly, highly doubt Arsenal will spend anything close to 200M this summer, not unless it is offset by some serious sales. I would bet their net spend will be under 100M. Which means doing some quality scouting with so many positions to be filled. Expecting Kroenke to kick in funds is about as forlorn as thinking the Glazers will ever go into their own pocket.

I want to be anointed ITK of the year if this goes through. Heard from someone at a third party club that if one of two or three targets can be got by his club then United's new CB signing this summer will be

Jonny Evans
It won’t.

  • Ranocchia has chosen to stay at Inter, and a contract extension is almost guaranteed.
  • Inter asked the same agent about Raspadori's availability in the future.
