I think it's pretty clear the Sancho transfer isn't going to be announced till after the Euro's, United are going to want to show off their marquee signing of the summer.
We will announce it once we agree a free with Dortmund. Something along the lines of: agreement reached with Dortmund, pending medical. The major announcement with pictures and stuff will be after the euros then.

Despair and confusion. Can't score a goal to save our life, blow 50M on a CB :wenger:. I know Luiz needed to be replaced but yeah don't see the urgency in this one.
They must be very very very confident of securing other more important targets...

50m pounds for Ben fecking White and we expect Madrid to sell Varane for the same amount?

If we end up getting Varane for a similar fee they pay for Ben White it will be funny as hell.

Although I'm still sceptical we will get both Sancho n Varane whilst giving Pogba his pay rise.

Jeez! Ben White for £50m. I don't think Villa would accept £100m for Grealish.

Note: this is the same Paulinho who left for China from Tottenham before going to Barcelona.

Paulinho on Barcelona:
Barca is a team that I know well. I spent an unforgettable year there, both at the club and in the city, and we won La Liga and the Copa del Rey. If I had another chance, and it was something good for both me and my family, I would be delighted.

For me, the issue of money or the duration of the contract wouldn’t be a problem, it never has been, and even less if Barca is the team that calls you. I already showed it when I left Guangzhou to go there charging much less than what I received in China. I’ve never put money ahead in my career, so that wouldn’t be a problem going back there. Also, this time the club would not have to pay a transfer for me.

The Big Ben memes will be coming in hot when this is confirmed.

Saliba didnt work out for them ? What happened there? I remember they were pretty happy when they had agreed to sign him..

Anyway.. mad money.. How much more do they have to spend with no europe at all.. they cant have a lot of money..

Don't like the White transfer, but at least a 50m bid dispels the notion that Arsenal will struggle to spend in the transfer window.

I get that Arsenal can't attract biggest players at the moment, but £50m should allow them to be in race for someone like Torres and convince him to play for them purely because of financial perspective.

What will undoubtedly be Arsenal's biggest signing this window, at least in terms of fee, and it's a giant dud for the money. Feel bad for them tbh.

How good is this fella then, I know he had a good year in the championship. But what was he like last season?

He is excellent and though 50M may sound a lot, I think he will live up to the fee.

For those comparing this transfer to Varane, remember Varane is entering the last year of his contract, he is also 28. White signed a new four year contract with us last summer and is only 23. If you were buying Varane with 3 years still on his contract you'd be looking at 70-80M, but Real desperately need the money and can't afford to let him go for free next summer.

I could be wrong, but I would bet that White will be a rock at the heart Arsenal's defence for the next 8-10 years. I'll be sad to see him go, but if there is one position where we are stacked with quality at Brighton it's CB and 50M for an academy boy can not be sniffed at.

Weird move by Arsenal. They desperately need a central midfielder that can create and a replacement for Xhaka, yet they seem to be focused on centre-backs.

Guess the idea is to have a ball playing defender at the back that will shoulder some of the creative burden. Its got Arteta written all over it, so at least we'll get to see Arteta get the sack if he flops.

Thirty minutes ago, I had an exchange of messages with Fabio Paratici, now manager of Tottenham. He told me that Insigne will not land in the Premier League.

Ben Davies in Azzurri? Paratici told me that Tottenham want to keep him, but if he leaves, they would only consider offers over 30 million.

Are people dismissing Ben White based on his ability or just because he's English and costs alot ala Maguire?

Official: another hugely talented young American player moves out to Germany.
