Is there any point watching the league next season If this happens? I know SkySports will try and put a positive spin on it but having one team with unlimited amount of money is tearing the league apart and taking out the competitiveness of the league?

Maybe the SuperLeague wasn't such a bad idea after all.....
It wasn't a bad idea if they have promotion and relegation system.

He'll be worth every penny for them. Once the next season is over, he'll be in the same world class bracket as de Bruyne.

Gutted, wanted him at United.
Seriously? You think he has the potential to be that good?

For one of the best players in the league?

it would be ok in a pre-covid market, but nowadays, this is really quite the sum for Grealish, not saying he is not worth it, he is really a brilliant player who i wish we can sign, but still the fee is enormous. I also thought Maguire's fee was too much too, we were desperate for him and I am happy we have him, but the fee we got him for is still huge.

And i have people quoting me that Villa don't need to sell Grealish and he's a Villa boy after they went shopping to buy the Norwich winger. Now they are going to use half of the Grealish money and get that lad from Arsenal

100%, I don't think he's far off. He carried Villa the past 2 seasons, without him they'd have gone down last season and wouldn't have had such a bright season this season.

He'll make City even better imo. I'm not as worried about them signing Kane, I think he'll start to tail off soon, those ankle injuries will catch up to him and make him even slower but Grealish will give them even more class.

All the ABUs have got exactly what they thought they wanted when they all told us it would be great for the league for City to be up there adding a new challenger to United's dominance. What they missed was that they would be exchanging one dominant team for another, but one which potentially could never be shifted from the top due to unlimited finds.

I know a lot of people are going to shout me down & say we ain't got the money but we should've been all over a deal to get Grealish at UTD & City almost certainly ain't finished about trying to sign Kane either.

It's about time the Glazers really did try to splash the cash & this summer would have been the perfect opportunity.

He hasn't gone yet...

What lad?

I'm sure the allure of Villa building a new team around him and a bumper new contract will make him ignore City's interest
Grealish at Villa will have a better team next season at City there's no guarantee he actually starts, if he gets his 250 grand a week to stay at Villa why not?

No white text? Titles. Improving. Money. Platform. They're not spending 100m or whatever on a sub.

You believe Ole will drop his love affair of 'McFred' if we sign a top class CB?

I hope that is the case, still think we'd need a better defensive midfielder to partner Pogba though. I have no faith whatsoever in either Fred or Scott being more than just bench players.

Keeping Pogba and signing those two would be lovely mind.
I believe he only plays them because Matic legs have gone.

We need a proper DM to partner Pogba and replace Matic. It would be the single biggest/important signing we could make imo.

If this is true, then presumably they've given up on Kane after the initial rejection. Grealish will improve them, but I think if they got Kane it would be game over next season for the rest. Grealish isn't a huge upgrade on their left wing options, while Kane is an enormous upgrade on playing a midfielder as a false 9

Could this really be happening? This wouldn't even happen in football manager

It makes zero sense for him to join PSG given that PSG already have enough regular top class CB. If he doesn't renew the contract then he's likely leaving for sure and the destination is likely either us or Chelsea. And knowing that we have been interested since before he joined Real, he might choose us based on us having more ambition to actually want him.
