Toni Kroos

The Guardian says United will bid £37m for Kroos. I don't think he'd come, but I would take him for that amount in a heartbeat.

I'd bundle him off in a plane quicker than the CIA could have circa 2002.
Source? I can't find anything.

I'd be very surprised if Madrid put him on sale. He's an integral part of the starting 11 there, and Zidane seems to be a big fan of him. If they are stupid enough though, this would be the one player where I'd really hope for us to swoop in and correct what was the biggest derp we allowed to happen in the first place.

Can't see this on their website

There ya go, gents. See further down in the article.

Sorry for not providing the source initially.
Manchester City are no different....They’ve also noticed that Toni Kroos has the capacity to control something called “tempo”, and are willing to give Real Madrid £37m to find out what it is.

It comes from a 2 week old article in comedy site Fichajes...
( http://www.fichajes.net/noticias/mourinho-sigue-empenado-toni-kroos-20160609.html ) via today in the Express ( http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...Toni-Kroos-Man-City-Real-Madrid-Bayern-Munich ) and Fichajes are about as credible as a random email from Nigeria stating that you've won the lottery and need to just take a few more steps to claim your winnings. Not a shred of truth in it

He has been brilliant so far, hardly ever loses the ball under pressure and that's a quality that United have been lacking for quite some time now. His long passing game is on point, so are his deliveries, Fifa-esque, he would fit right in. His change of environment has turned out to be a good call, matured a lot, attaboy!

Mourinho added the inconsistent Fabregas into his former Chelsea side, the world got a pretty good idea what kind of damage a guy with a skillset like his could do, now think of a well-oiled German machine... Fear is coming back and it's about time. Sign up Kanté for about 20 mil., then the midfield would be good to go. Game on, Pep. :)

Think Kroos , along with Modric , would be far better fit for us than Pogba, next to a pure DM we would have the base to really set the tone of a game.

Truly brilliant player (s)

If we could land this cnut I would have us down as favourites for the title.

Lets just hope Perez is as stupid as we all believe and go all guns blazing for Pogba and leaves Kroos surplus. No sane man would ever do that, but this is Perez and Real Circus FC.

If anything he could go to Chelsea or City and that would be bad news for us.

I think it was more Kroos choosing to leave because Bayern would not (oddly) meet his wage demands.

Wasn't that because Pep/Bayern didn't deem him THAT key, anyway seems odd, but I see why Pep would want him at City tbh

Meh, he wouldn't go to City or Chelsea ahead of us. I have a lot of friends in Germany and our stature over there is so much larger than both City and Chelsea that it isn't even funny. Basically we are considered the only "club of note" in the PL as far as the Germans are considered.

Nope. Pep & Sammer wanted to keep him. It's not totally clear who ultimately was behind it, but most rumors point to Hoeneß. And Hopfner(President) and Rummenigge do as he tells them.
We actually didn't want to sell him, but said persons wanted to lowball him on the contract extension. The idea behind it was to prevent an upward spiralling in our wage structure, i.e. if we pay him what wants, then Müller, Alaba & co will come and the demand the same.
In the end Müller & Alaba are on crazy wages now anyway, and all it did to us was losing him to Real.

Ah ok, makes sense then

IIRC Kroos wanted an improved wage, but the board deemed his demand new wage as surplus as they' re well covered in central midfield area: Javi Martinez, Bastia , Alonso, Thiago, Lahm, Rode, Alaba... all potentially be able to play there.

There definitely seemed to be an air of under-appreciation for Kroos at the time.

He wanted to be among the top earners yes. But the calculus was that he ultimately would give in and accept the boards' terms. Then the WC came, and Real made the appropriate offer. The board then made a drastically better last minute offer, but the hardball strategy employed before poisoned the well enough to make Toni say 'feck off'.
Dun goofed...

According to El Confidencial (Spanish paper), Kroos might move, not to the Premiership, but back to Germany. Apparently Mrs. Kroos is pretty homesick and wants to go home.Which is a bit of a spanner in the works for Guardiola's plans. But Ancelotti would love him back in Bayern and they have some players that might interest Real Madrid. Take it for what it's wroth.

We have no room for Kroos, he'd be in the way of Wazza Roons, our dynamic Capitano and playmaking maestro, we need a DM instead to partner him.

Apologies, must of been a typo from the guardian ;)
No problem mate. Media knows nothing, it's always the usual suspects of Real, Juve, Barca, Real, City, United clubs that are thrown into the mix. Still, reading United would have felt a lil' better. :)
But our day may come.

Why would the both of them not work out? Kroos plays alongside Modric, Kroos sits deeper and Modric is the one whose responsible for the more adventurous passing. Rooney could be our answer to Luca Modric. :D Na kidding, but the part Benzema plays for Real, if that's what Mourinho wants to see. One thing is sure, Rooney has to be higher up the pitch, we need his shots on target. His passing game is okay, but comparing Kroos with Rooney, Rooney ain't that good as a deep-lying playmaker. So we could do with one, imo.

Kroos needs defensive minded midfielder to help him out. Didn't work out with Kroos and Modric for Real (remember last year and this season El Classico in Bernabeu). Casemiro solved that problem. Rooney is no Casemiro.

Dont think we will get either Kroos or Pogba without champions league football unfortunately. :(
