Toni Kroos

Would you like to say something with a little more substance than a spasticated, indirect dig?

He's asked a question whether Kroos will be as effective in a midfield duo because he's always seen him play in a midfield three.

For what it's worth, I think that Kroos is not the fastest man in the world and our midfield is slow as feck already, thus I can understand KC's 'worry'. Whether he shits on half of our midfielders doesn't really matter, most people on this planet do, thing is, can we fit him in our system so that he benefits us in a right way?

And my point, if you noticed the bolded part of my post, was a response to him saying that it'd be disfficult to fit him in to the 4-2-3-1 system that we've been playing. All the players I mentioned have been played in the spot next to Carrick in that midfiled pair and he shits all over them all. So I don't get how we couldn't fit him in, if we have been playing those players there already.

Scholes wasn't the fastest man in the world either. From the qualities of what I've seen on him in that video (assuming he is as good as that) he would fit in with a solid player besides him. With the type of formation we're looking to move towards, with the right signings we'll be playin with a lot more possession and we'll be harder to take the ball off.

I believe that if cloned Carrick and put him next to the Carrick#1, it woudn't improve our midfield very much. You understand what I'm pointing at ?

Getting him to replace Carrick, now, that would probably make sense. We should be getting somebody more energetic to it as well.

Great player. I personally believe that he suits a deeper role more, his playing time in other positions is to accommodate other players and get him into the team. It's not his fault he's brilliant in those positions aswel.

Does he want to be a 'proper' central midfielder? I guess it could give us some chance in the future, since they have Thiago, Schwein, Martinez and even Alaba for that position.

I doubt he'll leave though, played a lot of games under Pep right? And I believe he's shown good form in his system. Plus, how often do German players leave Bayern/Bundesliga?

Mata's imminent signing has altered what we should look for in the centre midfield department. We'll need someone with high energy levels to play alongside Fellaini, assuming Moyes still sees him as the man.

It's a bit strange, why do people think a 4-2-3-1 has only 2 midfielders in the center? I know we usually played the AMC (mostly Rooney) as a second striker but in almost any other team this player is usually part of a midfield 3.

Kroos could very well be the deeper creative midfielder, he can defend quite well, so as a replacement for Carrick paired with a hard working, defensively strong midfielder he would be absolutely ace imo.

Kroos is a classy player Id have him here in a heartbeat. I think the supporters are just at a stage where we will take any top player doesnt matter where they play :D
I've felt that way for 2-3 seasons, tbh. As I said, he really seems to go under the radar outside of Germany, for some reason. He does come across as the type of lad that loves the club and would want to play his whole career there....so maybe that's a factor.

That's what I just said in a post lower. We'll probably stick to playing Rooney untill he leaves and then throw Adnan / Mata / Kagawa there. Kroos as Carrick's replacement would work well if we get somebody that can run like crazy. We'd be pretty much settled.

I keep forgetting we signed Fellaini.

Don't they always do this and then end up signing a new contract.

I disagree with the notion that we need someone to run around like crazy alongside 'the play-maker' of the CM pair.

We're a possesion team. Ok, obviously you can't have the ball 100% of the time....but we play a more positional defensive game than a pressing one, when the ball is in our own half. We don't have 'midfield destroyers' and haven't done for years!

*Edit* - The best way I can put it, is that we need a defensively sound, creative CM. Not a DM, ball-winning midfielder. A player that can play alongside Carrick as well as doing what he does. Kroos is that type of player, imo.

Aye. Add Vidal to this team and all of sudden we would have on of the strongest midfields in Europe then we would only have to sort out our wingers and fullbacks. :D

Fantastic player. I think he's great in central midfield. Based on the admittedly fairly small amount I've seen of him, he seems to suit the deeper role better. I see no reason why he couldn't succeed at United. Bayern would be mad to let him go, though.

He'll end up signing a new deal. There was a lot of talk about Iniesta not signing a new contract where there wasn't much of a chance of him leaving and I imagine it will be the same with Kroos.

Sammer has confirmed (on Sky Germany before their game against Monchengladbach) that we have interest in Toni Kroos!!!!!!!!

Please let it be true.*

*opinion based on that youtube video.

I didn't realize the magnitude of this news until the eight exclamation mark.

Were we to get Mata and Kroos...sweet child of mine!

90 long shots on FIFA

In all seriousness though he's class but most likely completely unobtainable.

His contract expires in 2015 isn't it?

I doubt it means much. I bet we have an interest in Messi too. Doesn't mean we will bid for him and sign him.

Indeed. I thought at the beginning of the season when they also got Thiago that maybe Guardiola didn't rate him and he might be off at the end of the season but so far he seems to be Guardiolas favorite midfielder and is pretty much their best midfielder this season. So I guess there is little to no chance that he will leave anytime soon.
