Both Fletcher and McTominay, similar sort of players to Collyer, took time to properly settle down. I think the fact Amorim trusted him ahead of Casemiro amongst others speaks volumes.
This. Ofcourse Casemiro and Eriksen are better players but they just don’t have the legs anymore to make it work at PL level.Shows how mobility trumps actual ability in the modern game. Much more effective than Casemiro and Eriksen
In certain game states, absolutely.Shows how mobility trumps actual ability in the modern game. Much more effective than Casemiro and Eriksen
To me he looks like he could be the best Ugarte replacement in the club right now, which is something we really need, and it would be fantastic to be able to spare cash on a Ugarte replacement for a year or two to prioritize quality on LWB and ST positions. This was a perfect game for him, mind. It depends on putting it together against the Brighton’s and Fulham’s of the world when needed. He will never be a top class CM. And that's OK. We want a good, reliable player, like the Nicky Butts and the phil nevilles of this world. Let's hope he evolves into one.
And I'd argue you need to improve your understanding of a game of football before posting again
If Casemiro or Eriksen had come on instead of him we would have lost that game, Collyer did very well in difficult circumstances and as pretty much all our team his passing stats were loer than they normally would be
Thought he looked very good and suited the game. Would hope to see him more in games where we don't need to defend deep
Casemiro actually has been pretty good - I agree. He's still a very good footballer, but the PL isn't the easiest league to retire in. Still could have a role to play - think he would have been decent today in a low block - but I also think that we can re-invest on a sale of his.Complete nonsense. Casemiro has been one of our best midfielders this season and a far better ball winner than Collyer.
Nah I think he just wears them rolled downDid the one thing Casemiro and Eriksen cannot, non-stop movement, ran his socks off and made sure nothing was easy for the Arsenal players.
