Gerrard was blooded as a RB too, so it definitely has precedence. CM is probably the most important position of the pitch. You don't just blood kids in there straight away, it's a gradual process and if TFM can take this opportunity to get the basics of fullback play down, it will serve him well when he eventually transitions to midfield.
I don't think Paddy McNair was ever going to be any more than a back-up squad player. TFM looks a natural in all the games he has played so far, outstanding on his debut.
I'd like Darmian to be sold as well, and I hope we consider TFM to be our backup and cup play right back and let him get some looks in defensive midfield as well in spotty appearances. He is big and fast and strong. I like it all from him so far.
Would you guys much rather him become an all action attacking B2B or a disciplined DM who can make powerful runs when the situation calls for it?

His shooting is pretty bad, and he's not much of an attacker as you can see from when he plays rb. He has good technique and speed which allows him to burst through the middle, but he usually passes it off because he doesn't have the ability to flat out dribble past players with skill.
He's a destroyer and he can flat out bully people through his strength and his tackling. I would like to see him drive the ball forward should there be space after winning the ball.

Seriously? Why is Carrick picture not aligned with the other CM? Why does Pogba have a white background compared to others. Who cares what a picture includes or does not. Mourinho has already claimed the squad is 23 and he does not see any transfer business.
