Getting slightly worried that he hasn't signed a new contract yet only a year left on his contact need to nail him down asap.

He did sign one recently!, why do you think he was sidelined for a while?

Not in the premier league 25-man squad. Though El-Fitouri the right back is.
Whats going on here guys.

He's U21 so doesn't need to be in that part. Comes under scholars and youth, same as Rashford.

Relax.

But why is El-Fitouri in it?! He was useless for the U21's last year.

You register everyone that you can.We still have slot in the A list and he's too old to be registered in the B list.Registration means they can play when the manager chooses to play them, otherwise mean jack all.

Sounds like Jose considers him a Right Back, or at least an option. I don't mind this for the time being but i would love to see him in midfield sooner rather than later.
I agree, however I think he sees himself as a CB. If Fosu is right for DM then Jose will see this in training and play him there. He may of not seen anything from him yet to credit him a place at DM.

Interesting that Jose has continued the RB idea that LvG had, if it pans out that would be great as there are so few decent RB options around and Valencia is getting older with no replacement in sight.

I dream of Mensah bullying other midfields with Pogba. Don't take away this dream of mine so soon.

I'd love to see

----Fosu-Mensah
Schneiderlin - Pogba

But I think it's likely that Carrick or Herrera will get a start.

I hope he soon has his best position. I dont think it helps players to play everywhere when they're young

He's not an option though as PSG wouldn't sell him.
That and he really isn't the type of personality we look for in players. He's a fantastic player but I don't think the club would risk him having a meltdown like he did before

Then again maybe he will become friends with Bailly(probably already are) and he might convince him to join.

Him and Pogba in midfield is a scary thought, although they'll still need a holding midfielder who can dictate the tempo from the deep - Fosu-Mensah has the same problem as Fellaini does (despite being much, much more talented), for example, when he's playing with Pogba - he runs too much and neither he nor Pogba have discipline to make this partnership work (and you don't want Pogba sitting back anyway).

Pogba--------TFM
------Carrick----

will be awesome to see today, although I think that he is seen as a right back at the moment.

Ro-Shaun Williams on the fastest @ManUtd player: "We do speed testing and there are quite a lot of fast players in the squad.
"Tim [Fosu-Mensah] is fast, Axel [Tuanzebe] & Marcus [Rashford] - all of them are very fast so we have quite a good competition between us. We do it in the gym. Am I the quickest? [Laughs] No, Tim is probably the fastest!"

I dont think he is ready for the first team. Loan him out and then when he gets experience, see then.

There is no one I want more in the team than him. I believe the best way to have him develop is let him mature in the CDM role with Blind.

saying that all summer, that is the best midfield we have right now. Id have Schweini rotating with Carras and Herrera with TFM when we play lesser teams.

Yes, our best midfield involves a player who's never actually played a senior game in midfield. This place can be seriously stupid at times.

 Like seriously. At this point it feels like they're just purposely building him up for the inevitable fall he'd have if he was instantly thrust into this mess of a side in a position he'd struggle in.

Never knew he was that fast though.

Quite a lot of people done the same with Pogba

When his competition are Schneiderlin, Fellaini and Rooney then yes, its possible.

He's only played about half a game for the u21's in midfield as well. Basically all of his football since he moved up from the u18s has been as a defender. I'm a huge fan of Fosu-Mensah myself and think he could do really well in midfield but it doesn't seem like the club have any plans to develop him as a midfielder.

Pogba was an actual central midfielder, though. Fosu-Mensah has played all of his senior football at CB or fullback. Mourinho consistently cites him as a right back in competition with Valencia and Darmian.

.. and they chose to be central defenders! Bloody teach them some stepovers and stick em on the wings :wenger:

I don't know why some keep clamoring for him to play in midfield. Never played there before and he doesn't really solve our midfield issues anyways.

Surely has to play tomorrow, no minutes in U23 thus far and no minutes for the senior team. May as well have loaned him if he doesn't even get to play against Northampton when one of our fullbacks is injured.

Because he already played there(youth level) and was great + he has all the talents he needs to be at least a very good defensive b2b player, exactly the type of player we need next to Pogba and DM who can control the game - Carrick. Obviously we dont play in that system but seeing how well we play in current one we can at least dream about...even though, judging by comments here we cant even do that.
