Thomas Lemar| Staying at Monaco

Oh I'm under no illusions that they are trying to build something great, I know Kroenke's a dick purely in it for consistent mediocrity like the last 10 years and sustained profits, I'm just saying from the perspective of trying to actually do something useful for the club and it's future even if the reality is the owner doesn't really give a shit.
If Kroenke stays longer, I can assure you, club like City or PSG will come for Lemar when he'll reach world class level and Wenger who'll probably be offered another lucrative contract will just bend over and get another 4:0 at Anfield.

I definitely agree with you on Wenger trying at least to rebuild from somewhere, even if it's 100th time in last 10 years but it will probably lead to same outcome. City would have to offer them Aguero to compensate that kind of instant loss of quality.

Lemar, Kolasinac, Walcott, Welbeck, Iwobi offer lot of pace but there is no touch of pure world class. They're building from scratch again as Ozil still looks nowhere to be seen.

£90m being quoted as a price now, are you fecking serious? It seems we got the bargain of the year in £75m Lukaku.

92m bid. What the hell?

Honestly speaking I didn't rate Lemar that highly before he was linked to a host of clubs. He has potential but for me never showed as much ahead of silva or Mbappe.

Would like him to do well but 92m is a pisstake. Immediate pressure on him.

Jose's words on Pogba's transfer fee ''Very soon that will seem cheap". Imagine getting him in this window!

Could receive immediate god-like status if he refuses to go to Arsenal
The problem is no one else will match Arsenal's bid. Lemar can either stay at Monaco or move to Arsenal. Arsenal must be offering silly wages too. Must be hard for him to turn this down.

The madness post neymar shows that we did well to get two starters for 110m. We could really complete this squad with 3 signings next summer if prices don't inflate even more!

If they sign Lemar for 92m they'll probably refuse to spend in the next 2-3 years

if his potential is seen as worth 90 million pounds then Monaco are mugging themselves with 150 for Mbappe
I didnt exactly say his potential is worth that much. But if you are a club who dont have to sell, you are well within your rights to charge what you want to deter clubs from even making a bid. At the same time if they want to let him go, then they can charge even 120m for Lemar cause no one knows what the future holds.

He is only 21. You are paying for potential.

The comparison to Bernardo Silva is a good one, in fairness. He was only 22 when City bought him (now 23), while Lemar will be 22 in a couple of months. Is he really worth twice as much as Silva? Comparisons are all we have to go off, really. The numbers don't make any sense in any other way at this stage.

I wouldn't be shocked to see him become a better player than Silva, but it's a long way from being guaranteed...and the chances of him being a significantly better player seem slim. Don't you think?

£92m for a player who wasn't even the best player at Monaco last season  their board are a joke, Arsenal will finish 6th at absolute best.

Yes but Monaco dont want to sell now. They'd rather keep him. Thats why the bigger fee in order to prevent clubs from even making a bid. I dont think its right to compare fees in this situation. But even after all this Arsenal are willing to spend stupid money then good for Monaco and I would take the deal as well if I were them.

Spare yourself the hope mate, Van Dijk ain't moving.

I didn't say we would sign him. I said turn our attention to, meaning links, failed bids all night ,and ultimately end up not signing him. I'm not getting my hopes up, but this now means coutinho must be not sold full stop or we look weaker.

Well, he is as good as Bernardo and has been a better player for Monaco.
