Bernardo Silva was the special one for Monaco, Lemar is "just" very good.
So in the space of 30 minutes they've agreed a British world record fee and then withdrawn it?

You can agree a deal and do the medical later if you really want. What's more likely happened is Lemar has turned them down and they've got no choice but to keep Sanchez who half the dressing room want gone. I don't mind paying 90mill and 80 odd for Van Dijk. It's a must and we have the cash we've been saving long enough.
Lemar was Monaco's best player in a very different system the previous season while Bernardo wasn't good. So I think that there is a point to be made that Bernardo benefited more from the 442 than Lemar.

We payed less than that for Pogba and he is a better play. Arsenal should have gone for Draxler and Mahrez for Nearly the price of 1 lemar.

Given the current mindset of their current fans, teasing a huge money signing only for it not to come off will possibly send them over the edge. I think they know they can't keep Sanchez hence the "...will take a third offer, maybe" most recent briefing.
