I wanted Lemar but not for £92m. Arsenal are weaker if they sign Lemar and lose Sanchez which is what I think will happen. Mourinho is right, Pogba does look cheap if Lemar signs for £92m. I don't think Lemar is better than Coutinho and people on here were saying we should sell Coutinho for 90 to £100m.
United and Woody will be dancing around silly thinking about the Pogba saga now...what an absolute steal!!!

The funniest thing in all that is that I don't rate Lemar that much as some of you guys and I think his contributions have been blown out of proportions big time.

It depends on how you look at it. If Arsenal are demanding £60m for a 28 year old player on the last year of his contract, how much did you expect Monaco to ask for a 21 year old player on a long term contract with bags of potential?

That was not the point though. Lemar hasn't been twice as good for Monaco as Silva was. The fee is understandable though given it's on deadline day and Monaco don't want to sell, they can ask for whatever they want to.
I've seen reports that Lukaku is 90 mil and others 75. Sky have it listed as 90mil on their side window thing on sky news. Maybe it was an initial 75 then add another 15mil. Saw another person say it will be somewhere over a 100mil if certain criteria and stuff are met.

But everyone is spending loads now so it's fine. It's only a crime when only United are spending record amounts of money.
My point is that Lemar, a younger player has played at the same level than Bernardo but with more consistency, that alone justify a higher fee. Secondly Bernardo was free to go this summer while Lemar was planned to stay and like you said it's deadline day.
He wants to join Liverpool rather than Arsenal.Lemar should turn it down. Arsenal are going nowhere with Wenger and that fee would place unfair, ridiculous pressure on him.

I'll defer to your views on that one, but my impression was that Monaco's style and setup were extremely well suited to Lemar's game (like Giggs in 06/07, providing great delivery from wide positions and stretching the play when needed, but allowing Evra to fly up the wing while he drifted in-field and provided central support and acting as a secondary playmaker). It wasn't unsuited to Silva's game, obviously, but my impression was Lemar probably had it better off in that sense.
I'll be interested to see who does better. I'm certainly closer to your point of view that there isn't much between them. Silva is obviously a much more elegant, eye-catching player so my understanding is most people expect him to be significantly better.

Sky Sports post United transfer fees as the maximum after all the add ons, but not for any other clubs. They consistently say Lukaku cost £90m, Lindelof £39.6m and Matic £40m, when they actually cost £75m, £30.7m and £35m respectively initial fee without adds ons.

Got to be honest, i know nothing about this guy. Can't say i even remember him standing out when i watched Monaco play in the Champions League. Now, i don't watch much football outside the Premier League, but damn - £92m, huh?

Please be true. LOVE Sanchez to stay at Arsenal, it would make my summer. The thought of how much damage that would do to their dressing room is enough to make me not need a certain Hub.com for weeks.
The most reliable reports at the time had it as an initial 75m + a potential 15m in add ons. A lot of the people here who were claiming it was less or more than that were either including Rooney's value or didn't understand how the words "initial" and "included" were being used.
