Anyway, he's a very good goalkeeper but I've seen him mess up several times even in a very defensive setup. I think De Gea is clearly better than him, whether that makes De Gea the best? I dont think so

My point was actually that every goalkeeper makes simple mistakes. I don't think he's the best goalkeeper in the world, but I do think that he has been the best goalkeeper in La Liga for the last year. He and Valdés have been the best two goalkeepers in La Liga this season.
I haven't seen him play. However, the bold part is very accurate. Schmeichel is, imho, the best goalkeeper ever, but he made some mistakes here and there. I would argue that Van der Sar made fewer mistakes than Schmeichel, but the Great Dane was still the better goalie overall.

Chelsea will ask for a king's ransom for Courtois. It's probably more likely that they sell Cech than Courtois. Plus, hasn't there been several reports that ter Stegen is signing for Barca?

EDIT: Better keeper than Mignolet though, not that there's a lot in it.. Belgium are lucky.
Comfortably better than Mignolet. I'd only have Neuer over him.
He may have got the wrong impression from the reporter. It isn't like him and mignolet were having a face to face conversation, he probably interpreted the quotes wrong.

Stepped up to the occasion today big time. Probably above De Gea right now, not by a wide margin, though that could come down to the tighter unit that is Atletico this year. Either way, excellent today.

Neuer seems a little cocky after all the praise and lacks the calmness of courtois , which is weird as this guy is so young. Looks invincible. De gea will need United to do well to be considered by rest of the world as one of the best around, in my eyes he and courtois are phenomenal when it comes to reflex saves.
Fantastic keeper. I guess he would have to get used to the PL like De Gea did but that shouldn't take long.

He's four or five inches taller than De Gea which means he will probably be the slightly better keeper.
Neuer's commanding of the box is overrated and one of his weakness from the very beginning.
With the fear of repeating myself, I was laughed out the door last summer when I suggested that Chelsea sell Cech and make Courtois their no.1 (I also said Mourinho should make Lukaku their no.9 in the same post, which looks more and more a no-brainer every week when Chelsea's attack misfires).
Absolutely ridiculous opinions going on here last year when folk were still raving about Cech. He's been a liability with a few seasons now and his regression is scary from Chelsea's point-of-view. Courtois' development has been outstanding and he, along with de Gea, is one of the stand-out goalkeepers in world football.

Couldn't agree more. Courtois has been better than Cech for at least a season now, it was ridiculous not to keep Courtois.

More like 2 inches. Doesn't mean he will be the better keeper (Casillas is quiet small for a keeper but was seen as the best in the world for around a decade) but it should help him adapt to the Premier League quicker than De Gea did as he is already very comfortable dealing with crosses.
Given their similar abilities, it's probably preferable for a keeper to be taller. Both look class.
He does what is needed to suit the high backline Bayern employ.
Whenever I see him, I think he is spanish and then get scares he will take over De Gea in the spanish team no.1 in the future. Then I remember he is from Belgium. Huge sigh of relief.

True, which is why it looks worse than it is, similar to lorris running around due to nonsensical high backline by spurs mostly during AVB's time. But even then neuer has had problems with commanding his box from the beginning.
Oh, by the way, it's Thibaut not Thibault. Minor thing I know, OCD...
Cechs been more than fine this season. Keeping this guy at Atletico was the absolute right decision, and being that he can come back a league and CL winner, it works even more for Chelsea as he would of handled the pressure to win already.
Given De Gea is a better shot stopper, he can easily make up for not being quite as tall in other areas

Why would they recall him? Cech is doing fine at Chelsea, they'd probably leave him there for another two seasons. Let him develop further at which point Cech will be approaching 35 and they'll have a 23 year old Courtois who will probably be one of if the best keeper in the world at this point to replace him.
I'm guessing they'll be in for Diego Costa this summer so extending his loan will sweeten the deal.
