I hope Federer loses. Davydenko played really well against him in the wimbledon semi's I think but just didn't get the luckybreaks that day.

This thing with Djokovic bouncing the ball alot, I think he's doing it to calm himself down and to get his breathing back into rythm. He's had breathing problems in the past and he had surgery to fix it a couple of years ago. In most of his matches after a while he starts to breathe heavy and out of rythm between the points. The ballbouncing probably calms him down, it has nothing to do with irritating his opponent Djokovic doesn't need to irritate his opponents he's good enough to beat them anyway.

Agreed. Djokovic doesn't seem the type to play mind games. Looks a humble lad to me.

On a tangent, I have to say I quite like Jankovic and her mother. Great attitudes from the both of them. The mother applauds good points from her daughters opponents regularly.

Very poor tennis so far from the two Russian women. Kuznetsova down a set and her serve is really misfiring.

Kuznetsova through in three

Women tennis is so poor at the moment that it's not even funny. Not long time back I used to prefer it to men's when Williams, Clisjters and Davenport were at their peak.

People talked about how William sisters changed women tennis with their power. They have ruined it IMO. It has now become a poorer version of men's tennis whereas earlier it was an alternate one with it's finesse and play not not seen in men's tennis.

Henin's a bottler, too. She's already said that she hates the US Open. You could see her giving the crowd evils when they wouldn't shut up.

Oh, and I'd forgotten how much this commentator loves Venus Williams. He's going on like he did when she was playing Jankovic. Apparently, that break back was entirely because of how awesome she is, not because Henin crumbled and kept hitting it wide.

he he, what did he say?

Got 1 out of the 2 semis right so far.

They say Federer is a great allround player, but his volleying leaves alot to be desired. The amount of easy volleys he misses is astounding. Basically it's this pattern that keeps repeating: great play from the baseline, opponent returns a fairly weak shot and is out of bounds, acres of space and time for federer to finish it off with an easy volley (everywhere would be fine, since the opponent is closer to crowd than the court), fecks it up.

It has been the same everytime I've seen him play and especially evident against Roddick and so far, against Davydenko. No wonder he doesn't play serve&volley on his first serve.

Poor match dominated by unforced errors so far.

EDIT: and Davydenko highlights this by hitting 2 doubles, gifting the game to Federer.

Davydenko's fecking shit. Nobody gets some many breaks against feds and he has blown them all. Federer better bring his best game against Novak, on today's display he is gonna get beat

I hope Federer plays like this against Novak, the main reason why Federer won tonights game was because Davydenko was really fecking shit.

Don't underestimate Federer, that man can up his game anytime during a match and Novak will have to work his bollocks off if he's gonna win this one.

I'd like to see Djokovic win, but i think Federer is not going to give him a sniff.

The Difference between Djokovic and the rest of the players(except Nadal and Federer) is that he doesn't lose all these close and important points against Federer and Nadal. During the last meeting between Federer and Djokovic in the Montreal masters final in the first set Djokovic had a break against Federer but Federer broke back and then with the score 5-5 and Djokovic serving Federer breaks him again. Now everybody of course expects Federer to win this set in a typical way for him when he plays against some better players. Federer takes the lead with 40-0 with the score 6-5 and Federer is serving. Djokovic now begins to play the tennis of his life, winning 5 straight points to get a tiebreak that he later wins. Djokovic eventually won this match in the end.

This is the difference between Djokovic and players like Davydenko and Roddick.

that was awesome, and Federer later said 'it wasn't so important match' or something. he's developing a complex against Novak :D . btw, are you sure Federer was serving at 6-5 in the first set? I thought Novak was, and Fed had 3 break (and set) points. I can't remember now. And remember Wimbledon when Hewitt was 6-2 up in the second set tie-break and Novak won the set? Amazing play, he never gives up. Hopefully he'll be at his best tomorrow and with a few unforced errors from Federer he can surely take his first Grand Slam
