I guess all this infotainment nonsense has really taken its toll on the populace and effectively brainwashed them into believing anything. Scary stuff. At this rate, the US will be the biggest risk for global security, ahead of Russia and China even.

With Russia invading Ukraine, China growing into the role of a new super power. Having the US turn on all its allies is just what we need.
Whoever would have imagined that WW3 could start with the US invading Canada? Crazy, but it looks like a real possibility now.
The only hope the rest of us have is that the US eats itself with another civil war before it does too much damage elsewhere.
In the UK we need to prepare ourselves to no longer be their ally because it will be our turn soon enough.

China will massively benefit from what's going on right now. They will fill in all the worldwide soft power gaps the US vacates and an isolated US... Lets be honest, they are going to be allies in the future. Dictators need to stick together, their enemy is democracy.

I don't think Trump is anywhere near smart enough or benevolent enough to 4d chess his way to world peace. He'll happily bring the world down with him if it means him and his friends get richer doing so, regardless of how cataclysmic the consequences.

It might seem hyperbolic but I really do believe this.
What we are seeing and have seen for the last decade, is the beginning of the end of a superpower. The weird thing is it’s a self-implosion. Nothing external has contributed towards it.
A generational superpower like the US was only ever going to destroy itself from within. It's far too much of a military and economic behemoth to be toppled from external powers.
If this gets out of hand we're dealing with a 21st century fascist regime hell-bent on antagonising much of the free world. The scary thing is it took the bulk of the free world and the USSR together to bring down the Nazi warmachine, which itself possessed a fraction of the military capabilities the US does. My hope is if the situation reaches FUBAR, the good half of the US actually leverages the 2nd amendment for what it was intended for instead of shooting up schools.

All the Republicans I know who were disgusted the last time around are already done with this administration after the first week instead of first 1-2 years. Ironically though the other side of what Musk and co is doing here of course is that it allows those with similar aspirations of a more nationalist approach in their regions to shine brightly. Or at the very least it forces those on either side of the political spectrum to be pulled further to the right. Resistance so to speak comes with its own dangers.
