Feck, I completely forgot this was today.. Going to have to youtube the highlights later.

How long is it scheduled to go on?

I'd guess to avoid republicans asking him how his day has been for 10 hours straight.
Well I do declare, my day is going just splendidly. I woke up this mornin and put on my slippers and went down the stairs and fixed myself some breakfast and a cup of coffee. It was a beautiful mornin, I tell ya what...

(20 minutes later)

...and then when I finished in the little boys room, I took a shower and changed clothes to come here to see you fine people...

only watched the Kamala Harris part there but some of the problem is that the questions are not good enough or the chair is not willing to make him answer so it leads to all sorts of useless info. history lessons, resumes, etc...

oh, the live stream I found wasn't live...:D

I get now why everyone was calling Cotton a d*ck.

 True

I'm amazed he didn't go full-Alabama and start saying "I don't reckon so" and "I don't recollect"

Edit: ffs I am JUST NOW starting season 5 episode 1 of House of Cards

True story. Drove for Middle Georgia up to Jersey back in July 2004 to see the United/Milan match. Along the way we stopped just outside D.C. to drop off a passenger (visiting family for the weekend while we carried northward). While in the gas station parking lot the four of us encountered a male/female couple with Alabama license plates. They approached us asking for directions and whatnot. I do recall a "don't reckon so" from the male, who irrelevant to the conversation appeared to be in his 30s while she was barely 20 on appearance. At one point the female mentioned driving around "the giant pencil thing." I immediately drew my gaze to my friend, Josh, who locked eyes with me and grinned. Yes, they went full-Alabama on the Washington Monument.

Senate Republicans have struggled in recent weeks to reach consensus over how to cover more low-income people and protect people with preexisting conditions without driving up the cost of their health-care bill. Leaders have signaled that they are willing to expand tax credits and provide a longer transition for states that expanded Medicaid under the ACA.

But those changes risk alienating conservatives who are under intense pressure from voters and outside groups to demand a more forceful repeal of the law known as Obamacare.
They can't get out of their own way to do something halfway decent because of their staunch ideology.

Can someone leak my "small government friendly" 50 state single payer system solution to Trump please?

Tom Cotton came off like a massive twat today. He just had dinner with Trump two nights ago, so he probably got his marching orders there.
Him and this guy...

Wait? What?
Yeah man...
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/after-1...ratifies-13th-amendment-which-banned-slavery/
The 13th Amendment to the Constitution, which abolished slavery, was ratified in 1865. Lawmakers in Mississippi, however, only got around to officially ratifying the amendment last month -- 148 years later -- thanks to the movie "Lincoln."

The state's historical oversight came to light after Mississippi resident Ranjan Batra saw the Steven Spielberg-directed film last November, the Clarion-Ledger reports.

After watching the film, which depicts the political fight to pass the 13th Amendment, Batra did some research. He learned that the amendment was ratified after three-fourths of the states backed it in December 1865. Four remaining states all eventually ratified the amendment -- except for Mississippi. Mississippi voted to ratify the amendment in 1995 but failed to make it official by notifying the U.S. Archivist.
Didn't do it immediately postbellum... botched it in 1995... finally got it right in the 21st century

Mind blown.

The dog ate my amendment ratification level excuse in 1995. Or rather "The cheque is in the mail" level believability.

Almost 200 Congressional Democrats are filing suit against Trump for accepting foreign payments now...
https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...s1230am:homepage/story&utm_term=.8a62e904dff7
The lead senator filing the complaint in federal district court, Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), said Tuesday that the lawsuit has already drawn more congressional plaintiffs — 196 — than any legal action previously taken against a president. No Republicans had joined in the lawsuit so far, although they will be invited to do so, Blumenthal said.

An advance copy of the legal complaint reviewed by The Washington Post argues that those in Congress have special standing because the Constitution’s “foreign emoluments clause” requires the president to obtain “the consent of Congress” before accepting any gifts.

Considering the Sessions hearing yesterday and the Comey one last week it really does fit into the picture that Trump appointed the clueless one and terminated the competent one (based on hearing performance, so ofc limited perspective).

Yep. He gets the "American hero" treatment. Many people can't compartmentalize and separate the person's military service from their legislative record.

IMO it almost does a disservice to them for their military service. Veterans are to be admired and respected for all they've done in the armed services but giving them a free pass into and during their politics careers just because they are veterans is like gifting them things on a silver platter.

I will be interested to hear who he blames for this mornings shooting. My bet is the Democrates before terrorism.

I wonder if the republicans will start pushing through crazy legislation while our heads are turned over the next few days.
