Jared better watch his back.Trump joked that he felt Jared had become more famous than him and he was worried about that.

He's not supposed to accuse him of anything. He's just supposed to give an account of the events that transpired.

But he'll get asked questions like

Do you think Trump pressured you in anyway?

Do you think Trump was trying to obstruct justice by asking you to call off the Flynn investigation?

Is he just going to confirm nor deny it.

Didn't Comey already say at the Senate thing a couple of months ago that he wasn't aware of any interference into the investigation? Something like that?

He was never going to use that word and anyone who expected it was being unrealistic.

The media have been hyping this up to record levels, so i suspect a lot of people are going to be disappointed. They've been using phrases like "Washington's Superbowl" to describe it.

Some people have gone way overboard. People on places like Reddit have been saying they'll be taking the day of work to watch.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A nonprofit issues group is labeling James Comey a political “showboat” in a television ad set to air Thursday, the day the former FBI director testifies on Capitol Hill.

Comey “put politics over protecting America,” a narrator says in the 30-second spot, titled “Showboat,” which was shared with The Associated Press. It accuses him of being “consumed with election meddling” even as “terror attacks were on the rise.”

Great America Alliance has paid for the ad, which is slated to run digitally Wednesday and appear the next day on CNN and Fox News. The group, formed after President Donald Trump’s election to advocate for his administration, is not required to disclose its donors.

The message of the ad reflects a strategy by Trump and his advocates to erode Comey’s credibility.

Comey will testify Thursday before the Senate intelligence committee and is expected to be grilled about his interactions with Trump ahead of his own firing. He will also be questioned about the agency’s underlying investigation into whether Trump’s campaign had anything to do with Russian meddling in the election the New York billionaire into office.

The ad highlights that Comey’s previous congressional testimony about Hillary Clinton’s emails was inaccurate and needed to be corrected. After Comey said Clinton’s campaign aide “forwarded hundreds and thousands” of emails to her husband, a potential security breach, the FBI sent a letter to Congress saying he’d misspoken.

“James Comey: just another DC insider only in it for himself,” the ad concludes.

Eric Beach, head of Great America Alliance, said no one from the White House asked his group to do the ad. Some of the commentary in it — including the title — echoes public statements by Trump and other administration officials.

Two days after firing Comey last month, Trump called him a “showboat” in an interview with NBC News

That question was related to officials at the DOJ interfering and not Trump.

Trump supporters have been lying when they keep saying that Comey himself admitted that there was no interfering by Trump at a previous hearing, when the video clearly states he only mentions the DOJ officials and not Trump.

Seems to be issues putting the video on here but here's the link

That's it, thanks.

Yet again just when you thought he couldn't get any lower.................

As I said yesterday there is no limit to how low this man could go. He really is the most despicable man on the planet. It just makes me sick to read things like this.

I'd buy him all the pints he wants if he offered to make another season of The Wire or a spin-off.

I agree mate, it's without question the greatest thing ever to be shown on TV. Absolute genius from start to finish. Apparently "The Corner" is very good too but I have yet to get to watch it.

Truth. And, when you think about it, pretty depressing when Simon put together such a great insight into the decrepit underside of America, only to see a fool in real life exploiting all of that desperation depicted in it to feed his insatiable appetite for praise and dominance.

Trump: "Stopping Qatar could mean the end of any form of terrorism".

Trump has also met with the Emir of Qatar Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani in the capital of Saudi Arabia while on his foreign trip last month.

“We are friends. We’ve been friends now for a long time indirectly, haven't we? Our relationship is extremely good," Trump said following his meeting with then of U.S-Qatar relations. "We have some serious discussions right now going on. One of the things that we will discuss is the purchase of lots of beautiful military equipment because nobody makes it like the United States."

Trump and the Emir of Qatar also spoke on the phone in February in which the two leaders "reaffirmed the close defense cooperation between our two countries and committed to strengthen efforts to defeat violent terrorists," according to a readout from the White House.

Jeez, he's advertising for arms like he's selling candy to children.
Then comes the "false" news of $100bn arms deal to Saudi.
Now German Foreign Minister accuse him of starting an arms race in that region.

It's like reading a real life spin off for 'War Dogs' movie.

I will never understand how this man is 'running' the most powerful country in the world. Even his own wife is finding it difficult to keep up the charade. I'll be absolutely amazed if either his presidency or marriage remains intact before the 4 years is up.

As much as people might have hated the Obamas (who from an outsiders perspective are easily the best and coolest Prez and FL in recent times), I can't believe they see this as an improvement over the last 8 years. He really is a clueless buffoon.

Are the American populace still riding the crest of his wave or are they beginning to wake up and smell the coffee??

To answer you... some are. Some are realizing that their "protest vote" was a huge feck up. Some though (like my uncle) are putting Trump flags in their yards as a show of support

Most who voted for him still support him since they are being spoonfed daily propaganda on Fox News that he is a victim of a witch hunt. My parents are staunch Trump supporters so I use them as a barometer of how his core voters perceive him. When you live in a self-reinforcing echo chamber of views, its difficult to step back and see what is actually going on.

Then I'm guessing it will take something monumental for them to realize that he is not all that he is cracked up to be. Are the media focusing on the dynamic between him and his wife?

There are a core group who support him that are basically brainwashed by right wing media. There are another group who supported him because they are working class and thought he would provide jobs, as well as another smaller group who supported him because they weren't big on Hillary. The latter two groups will definitely think twice if things continue to go downhill. His poll numbers are around 36/37% right now, so there's a good chance about 3-7% of his election support has already eroded.

If you look at George W. Bush, per Gallup, his 2nd term average approval rating was 37% with a low of 25%. It hovered in the mid 30s with Iraq going to shit then dived to the low when the economy went tits up.

A lot of those same people are the ones hanging in there for Trump. They're baked in... as a southerner, I think of it as those folks view politics as they do college football... he's their team and they're gonna support him regardless.

If you look up all you can find about group and group sociology you find all the patterns of the Trump voters there. My group is great and does everything right... and the other group stinks...

The father of my son and some of his family are part of that "tribe" - so I just have to go to my facebook to see all the propaganda... bible belt, so called Christians (I am grown up with catholic schools and nuns - l do not believe but this believe is far from the church and verses I learned), gun lovers, rednecks...

They even think they are smarter than all this guys with education...
